Description
Series: Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust MemoryThis is the GP01 Full Vernian Zephyranthes from the Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories OVA series. This machine is essentially the GP01 Zephyranthes , though with numerous improvements for use in space. The original GP01 is basically a ground unit -- in many respects basically a beefed up RX-78-2.
The model is basically a copy of the GP01 I made earlier. The head is identical, but the chassis/backpack is slightly different in order to accomodate the corefighter's upgraded space use thrusters (unfortunately they are all but impossible to see in this image except through the mirror). The shoulder armor has been replaced with protrusions that contains thrusters/verniers. The verniers can retract when not in use. The same is true with the yellow "vents" in the chest (actually verniers hidden underneath the flaps). Skirt plates have been attached and the lower legs have been redone. The feet are actually the same size but now have extension units that give it "clown feet"... I'm not really into it. The shield is the same.
The gun used by the GP01Fb is "about" the same as the GP01's. But I thought it was boring so I replaced it with a 240mm folding cannon designed by Takayuki Yanase (incidentally a mechanical designer in the upcoming Gundam 00 series) in one of his illustration books. Otherwise, the GP01fb never uses this cannon.
I should say that I rather like the GP01 over the FB version...

One thing that bothers me is that it doesn't have that metallic feeling in it, more like plastic-ish feeling.

It's "both" actually. Some of it exists mapping to the polygons, lots doesn't. Just to amuse you a bit more... some of them are actually render errors as there seems to be some quirky 2sided polygon error that happens every now and then. Makes things look a bit stretchy or outliney. I usually leave them it because it looks like it helps with the effect

Definitively, the folding cannon looks better, specially with that pose. Damn, that's a sexy ass-kicking machine.
Impressive work on the background, the reflection at the colony's mirror gives more realism.

Well, I don't know how the other pic looks, but, definitively this version is very original in, specially for using different details, like the cannon instead of rifle, something new.
If this version is just "close" to the one you imagined, I bet that mental image you originally thought might be mind-blowing.

Believe me, your work is helping me a lot with my own mech moideling, though I am just adjusting structure yet and those standing views are greeat for that, but still like to keep the poster like ones around, sometimes I use then as wallpapers :3

So you plan to make another GP-02 to make a battle scene pose with this GP01fb? Is very specialize , coz I saw you mostly make a gundam posing without battle scene each other~
