Held off on posting this one for far to long, for no reason other than I couldn't think of a title and description. I've quite recently grown a liking for Android 18 after watching Dragonball Abridged on YouTube - anybody else a fan?

Huh? Her muscles are synthetic, aren’t they? Or is she a biotech gynoide? I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what kind of cybernetics Gero specialized in, and there’s no straight answer, making me wonder if the author pulled the ideas out of his ass after seeing Robocop and Terminator on TV. What’s really weird is, Whatever else he did to her, Gero DID allow her to keep her womb. Why?? All he cared about was fanatically pursuing (what he THOUGHT 😏) was the Red Ribbon Army’s ideals, forcing most of his soldiers into undergoing his procedure, yet he was magnanimous enough to let her keep an organ that was a potential weak point in a fight? What if someone figured it out and stabbed her up her cootch?
Again, I think the author actually pulled out the idea of her having a baby, again, out his ass as a plot device to keep her around after Cell Saga concluded. After all, she had nothing in common with Goku’s motley crew, other then finding Krillin cute; maybe cute enough for a casual fling, but without a womb, she would have grown board and moved on like her brother. A baby ties her down to the Monkey Posse, however.

Ah, so he didn’t know what to do with her after Cell Saga, but she was popular enough not to get rid of, because she’s hot, so her still being able to have a baby, a magnanimous concession totally out of character for Gero, was a retcon, as I guessed. I’m sure that, originally, all that was meant to be left of her flesh was her brain.

Yeah, I think it's a various, confused mixture of the traditional perception of a cyborg and an android in whatever way fits the story. So for the sake of this, she can build abs...
