On a whim, I just decided to make a new avatar. Sadly, alot of details I put into it just doesn't show when it's 50x50 pixels, so here's original version, just to show off some of the little details I put in.Related content

It's the Maska-1 helmet rather. I love how you can actually fit a visor to the front to protect your face, cool feature heheh~ ^_^

Wait, but Maska-1 doesn't have an integrated radio mic.
The k6-3 "Altyn" does. (Very famous FSB helmet btw.)
Also, very similar to Altyn, Rys'-A and Rys'-T also have integrated mics.

I'd say it's pretty close, sans my glasses (I forgot I wore a pair, go figure~ *shrugs*)
And nah, it's a Russian assault helmet, used primarily by the Spetsnaz. Russian tankers still wear their WW2 era cloth helmets, probably because they spend more time fighting with their tanks buttoned up then up on the cupola.
I guess NATO tankers believe that having better situational awareness is worth the risks of fighting with the hatches up. Then again, maybe the Russians just can't use helmets because their tanks always had really small interiors. Hmm~

Makes sense. I guess it would be pretty redundant to wear a helmet inside a mobile gun with several inches of armor on it, at least from a certain point of view; from another, you can never have too much protection.
