Description This is a post-World War 2 tank scale chart, circa 1950 - Present Day. Enjoy! ^_^

The scale on this chart is compatible to my World War 2 tank size chart, so you can cross reference between the two if you feel so inclined. ^_^

-----

=Version 1-2 (????)=
The original files has long been lost to me, so I have no real documentation on this. It happened somehow, once upon a time. XD

=Version 3 (2008)=
Fixed the M1A1 Abrams stats, and redid some other tanks. Added more tanks and stuff~

- M998 Humvee
- BMD-1 Airborne IFV
- Type 63 APC
- BMP-3 IFV
- Marder 1A3
- PT-76 Amphibious Tank
- M551 Sheridan
- Stridsvagn 103C
- T-62 MBT
- FV 4201 Chieftain
- M60A3 Patton
- C1 Ariete
- AMX-56 LeClerc
- M1A1 Abrams (Redone)
- T-90 Vladimir
- T-72 Ural (Redone)
- T-80U MBT

Doubled the amount of tanks there were previously. Also redid the layout and added nation flags. Enjoy! XD

=Version 3.5 (2013)=
A very long overdue fix of the scale bar. Just a quick fix really, just so I could get that off my mind.

I may update this sometime, since I've got almost 30 additional tanks and armoured vehicles scaled and prepared for the next version. We'll see when I get around sorting that out. ^_^

I don't see the Stryker Armored Vehicle in any of its variants.

Heh, it wasn't much really. Just taking schematics from various places and scaling them appropriately.

It's more time consuming then technical, but it gets the job done. ^_^

The scale legend is not accurate. The man standing next to it is less than 4 ft tall. Also, the m1a1 hull is really about 8m long but measures about 5m roughly using your scale.

The metre scale is totally out of whack. Everything else is pretty much right on the money, so just ignore that little mishap of mine. ^_^

Really great stuff.
But it's a Marder 1, the 1A3 version lacks the remote-controlled MG and the gunports.

Man, it's the little details that really throw you off.

I'll amend that sometime, thanks for the heads up!

this reminds me of Mercenaries, the first game, when you could tool around in a ZSU 23. Damn those things could shoot!

Sadly, adding the top view makes it harder to get a proper layout.

Because I try to make some 3D stuff...there are no top views...but at least I know these tanks name and help me easily to find them on google

Always wanted to see the Stridsvagn 103c (or S-tank) in a size comparison.

Thanks! ^_^

It's a good thing too that I put the S-Tank in, I used to think that tank was tiny as hell.

I was wrong, cos' it can stand among the beasts and not feel lacking! XD

I gotta say, to see one of those Skylines drifting through a firefight, then swerve to a halt and eject a battle-hardened Japanese Special Forces Group.... would be pretty epic.

It'd be the fastest road-based land transport in the world if that happened~ XD

nurek11 [2010-10-30 14:50:57 +0000 UTC]

very nice one, could use some more APC/IFV though like Piranha/LAV, Stryker, Patria and Pandur... and maybe Sherman, T-34 and Pz-IV for ww2 era reference?

An update is in progress, with most of the mentioned vehicles in it~ ^_^

As to WW2 vehicles, there's a WW2 chart here [link]

Enjoy! XD

WormWoodTheStar [2010-05-28 11:30:50 +0000 UTC]

Hell yeah, Twardy is here too

I remember some Discovery program about the armament of former Warsaw Pact countries and some American army member said that T-72 is not a serious threat for Abrams or Challenger, but he would not like to fight against Twardy, with all the modernisations they did in Bumar-Łabędy* works.

Too bad it's still as tight inside as T-72 M1 which it is based on. Three people are having trouble fitting inside, I don't want to imagine what happens when something breaks down inside and engineers have to work without big tools.

* Polish equivalent of Russian Uralvagonzavod, they were making T-34, T-54/55 and others here during communist regime.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sanity-X In reply to WormWoodTheStar [2010-06-04 07:06:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Twardy!

I don't really want to get bogged down with the whole american experience against the T-72s (Iraqi Asad Babil, lol) but I think when faced with a competent foe in any real modern tank, they will be far more alert and much less condescending.

Hahah, space has always been an issue with russian tanks. They seem to manage maintenance though, so I guess they've found ways~ ^_^

ps: Yeah, Bumar Labedy~ I've heard about them from deals our country made with them, and Golonka kindly sent me their brochure. (Bah, I have no idea how to add ppls avatars here. >_< ) Pretty nifty guys, but I never knew they built some great tanks during the Soviet occupation. Cheers! ^_^
