This is a post-World War 2 tank scale chart, circa 1950 - Present Day. Enjoy! ^_^The scale on this chart is compatible to my World War 2 tank size chart, so you can cross reference between the two if you feel so inclined. ^_^

=Version 1-2 (????)=
The original files has long been lost to me, so I have no real documentation on this. It happened somehow, once upon a time. XD
=Version 3 (2008)=
Fixed the M1A1 Abrams stats, and redid some other tanks. Added more tanks and stuff~
- M998 Humvee
- BMD-1 Airborne IFV
- Type 63 APC
- BMP-3 IFV
- Marder 1A3
- PT-76 Amphibious Tank
- M551 Sheridan
- Stridsvagn 103C
- T-62 MBT
- FV 4201 Chieftain
- M60A3 Patton
- C1 Ariete
- AMX-56 LeClerc
- M1A1 Abrams (Redone)
- T-90 Vladimir
- T-72 Ural (Redone)
- T-80U MBT
Doubled the amount of tanks there were previously. Also redid the layout and added nation flags. Enjoy! XD
=Version 3.5 (2013)=
A very long overdue fix of the scale bar. Just a quick fix really, just so I could get that off my mind.
I may update this sometime, since I've got almost 30 additional tanks and armoured vehicles scaled and prepared for the next version. We'll see when I get around sorting that out. ^_^

Uh... sorry to be nit-picky, but the Abrams is about 67 tons. Really nice chart, though.

Hey, no problem~ I'm quite the nit-picker myself, and I do appreciate the feedback.
Hmm... You're right. I would've been technically right if that was indeed ye olde M1 Abrams, but I think the that one there is actually an M1A1 Abrams~ Which as you said, weights along the lines of 67+ tonnes.
Thanks for the heads-up, Chaz~ I'll get around correcting that once I update this chart. Maybe even replace it with the newer M1A2 Abrams lol! XD

I've been mislead in the past and got my numbers confused when comparing tanks due to this thing here from wikipedia:
"The short ton (S/T) is a unit of weight equal to 2,000 lb[1] (around 907.18474 kg). In the United States it is often called simply ton[1] without distinguishing it from the metric ton (or tonne, 1,000 kilograms) or the long ton (2,240 pounds, roughly 1,016 kg); rather, the other two are specifically noted. There are, however, some U.S. applications for which unspecified tons normally means long tons (for example, Navy ships)[2] or metric tons (world grain production figures)."
And the M1A1 is... 67.6 short tons (61.4 metric tons)

Oo, thanks for that Mikkow, that clears a whole lot up. Since I'm metric-centric, I'll probably have to do some revisions now... >_<
God bless whoever decided we needed more that one unit of measurement for the same darn thing... XD

Just keep going with metric tons (1000kg). The whole world uses metric officially except USA and Burma.

Wow, I didn't know they still produced T-72s....
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Sanity-X In reply to SpetsnazCorpral [2008-02-24 20:07:22 +0000 UTC]
Heheh, I guess they still do. The T-72B (or better known as the T-90) and the T-72BM obr. 2006 would be the more current production models, not to mention it's cousins being built under licence in many other countries.
Cheers!

Yeap. I think it's kinda like the AK-47 for the tank world. It's a tank that works, it's got the punch, it's mobile and it's easy to maintain.
A true testament to Russian engineering~ ^_^

Thanks! And hmm... As for the biggest, I have no idea~ They're all pretty damn big to me lol! XD
Some are taller, some are longer, some are wider and some are just heavier lol! Really depends on what's your definition of big~ ^_^

And personally, I think our PT-91Ms are pretty awesome~ Who cares if Singapore are running Leopard 2A4s and Indonesia has T-90s? At least now we have MBTs too!!!! XD
I MUST take a closer look at our new tanks before I go bonkers with anticipation, lawl~

I'd love to get a look, but I think they won't let me near em...T___T
I really should draw tanks and planes more often...pretty sucky at them.. >.<

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they still do~ Upgraded here and there of course.
That thing is a workhorse and it gets the job done, so why not use it? ^_^ Props to the one American vehicle without a name! XD

Ah.. the only pictures of the american armour lately are bradley's and abrahms so I wasn't sure
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Sanity-X In reply to Krazy-Kupo [2007-11-25 05:16:14 +0000 UTC]
Can't blame ya~ Most people think the M113 was abandoned back in Vietnam hahahahah, what with the Bradleys and the LVT-7s (or now known as the AAV-7A1...) running about all over TV~
Hmm... question~ Why is it the Americans will name everything from tanks to planes to missiles, but never bothers naming their APCs and IFVs? (with some possible exceptions, like the Bradley and the Grizzly) Do they deserve that little respect? O_o??

Calling stuff by number is cool?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Sanity-X In reply to Krazy-Kupo [2007-11-26 08:28:31 +0000 UTC]
I guess you can look at it in that way... But that's just irritating, like for the past 4-5 years I've been calling the famous American APC the 'M117 APC', and being the local authority on warfare and weapons I had unwittingly influenced alot of my lads to call it that too. I'm currently on a quest to rectify that... >_>"
And as a comparison, I've never got the M1 Abrams wrong ever since the first time I saw it on a free card I got from a cereal. Evar~ ^_^

Managed to get a Crusader II mixed up with an Abrahms and a T-70, but that was due to the camera angles on Top Gear
Cool, I'm the local authority on warfare and weapons in my class as well
