This is a post-World War 2 tank scale chart, circa 1950 - Present Day. Enjoy! ^_^The scale on this chart is compatible to my World War 2 tank size chart, so you can cross reference between the two if you feel so inclined. ^_^

=Version 1-2 (????)=
The original files has long been lost to me, so I have no real documentation on this. It happened somehow, once upon a time. XD
=Version 3 (2008)=
Fixed the M1A1 Abrams stats, and redid some other tanks. Added more tanks and stuff~
- M998 Humvee
- BMD-1 Airborne IFV
- Type 63 APC
- BMP-3 IFV
- Marder 1A3
- PT-76 Amphibious Tank
- M551 Sheridan
- Stridsvagn 103C
- T-62 MBT
- FV 4201 Chieftain
- M60A3 Patton
- C1 Ariete
- AMX-56 LeClerc
- M1A1 Abrams (Redone)
- T-90 Vladimir
- T-72 Ural (Redone)
- T-80U MBT
Doubled the amount of tanks there were previously. Also redid the layout and added nation flags. Enjoy! XD
=Version 3.5 (2013)=
A very long overdue fix of the scale bar. Just a quick fix really, just so I could get that off my mind.
I may update this sometime, since I've got almost 30 additional tanks and armoured vehicles scaled and prepared for the next version. We'll see when I get around sorting that out. ^_^

lol, the Su-27 out beats you all heh, I was about to say, hey, is that the Su-37 Terminator, they look the same.
Well, all these tanks are medium tanks by today standards, the only heavy tanks ever made was the U.S. T90 (only 2 built) and the German Panzerkampfwagen VII Maus (which is Mouse in English, and the Mouse is twice the size of the Tiger )

Haha, true true~ The only way you can tell them apart is from the canards and the thrust vectoring engines lol~
And hmm... I think those tanks you pointed out are actually specimens of a very rare class~ The 'Super' Heavy Tanks~ Those things were massive stuff, lol!
ps: Although, I can't seem to find any documentation of an American T90 tank~ If you have some linkage to any info on that, mind passing it on? Thanks in advance~ ^_^

Ahh, this tank~ A classic super-heavy indeed~
Thanks for clearing that up~ ^_^

Heavy weapons are always nice to have, even if one of my two native armies rather lacks in the armor aspect.

Indeed, it is~ But I guess you can relax in the fact that your next door neighbour above you has an inventory of seventy-eight hundred M1 Abrams in full readiness. If that's not secure I have no idea what is! XD

Yeah, our good friends have got us covered. However, one of our few real potential enemies (ChΓ‘vez and his new dictatorial state) probably have something inferior to our AMX-13s... if they have any tanks at all.

Fear our teeny English tank!
That Leopord looks totally badass

Fear it indeed~ I'm sure that even though we've gotten those huge PT-91M, there is a place in our hearts for that teeny tiny Scorpion~ I sat in one! XDXD
And yes, the Leopard tank~ Coming from a long line of feline german tanks, (like the Panther, Tiger and King Tiger) it sure as hell doesn't dissappoint!~ ^_^

Thought the Scorpion was an IFV not an actual tank, but that might have just been the size
The word Leopord makes you think of a lithe gracefull creature, ironic as the tank seems mahoosivly covered in plating
π: 0 β©: 1
Sanity-X In reply to Krazy-Kupo [2007-09-25 12:01:26 +0000 UTC]
Apparently, to be an IFV one has to be able to transport troops while also being armed enough to support the infantry afterwards, hence it's name~
The Scorpion is a light tank (something I thought was already gone in todays school of thought, doh! >.< and is categorised as a Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance.
And regarding the Leopard, well... it's about as much a Leopard as a Tiger was, well, a tiger~ ^_^" Rawr~

The Challenger 2 looks a bit boring actually so the Scorpion is the better tank to put on your chart thingy
Was just checking it up because we named all our main tanks after C-words which makes it confusing

Sanity-X In reply to Krazy-Kupo [2007-09-25 16:59:25 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, you're right~ Since these are all MBTs and their sizes and shapes are practically alike, this is rather dull... I think the additions of other types of vehicles like APCs, IFVs, mobile artillery and anti-air vehicles might help liven things up~
It never really crossed my mind that modern MBTs were a whole lot less varied (in size) than the WW2 tanks I previously did...
ps: You have a point with the whole british C-word thing~ Crusader, Cromwell, Churchill, Challenger... But there are a few exceptions to the case that I can pick off at the top of my head, namely the Matilda and the Valentine tanks~ But even then, I think this C-word thing deserves some digging into lol~ It's too much of a coincidence!! XD

Krazy-Kupo In reply to Sanity-X [2007-09-25 17:07:57 +0000 UTC]
Maybe it was because the Matilda and Valentine were a bit pants so they kept to C-word tanks
π: 0 β©: 1
Sanity-X In reply to Krazy-Kupo [2007-09-26 14:56:57 +0000 UTC]
Maybe~ Notice how other than the Churchill which is kinda more of a proper heavy tank, the other 'miscreants' of the C-word tradition were from the Infantry Tank type, which eventually got scrapped.
Nobody really liked those infantry tanks but hey, they did what they were supposed to do eh? Support the infantry and sadly, little else~ >_>

Krazy-Kupo In reply to Sanity-X [2007-09-26 17:14:09 +0000 UTC]
Well the Crusader was a WWI tank and they only really had infantry support ones then
All the Matilda did was get blown up repetadly at Dunkirk

pure heavy steel!
there lack some other tanks, but as far as i can remember it's just T-90 and the "Black Eagle", both russian... though the PT-91 looks a lot like the T-90, and the black eagle is still a prototype...
and yeah, the Su-27 is really big... i got a model of it and i though it was 1:48 scale... but it was 1:72 and its as big as a B-17, but obviously lots of times better XD

Golonka In reply to PatchKatz [2007-09-29 17:58:04 +0000 UTC]
Yes PT-91 looks a lot like T-90... mainly because it is polish a modification of old T-72. Still it is completely diffrent tank, and one of the best T-72 modifications in the world (it is said that in some aspects it is not worse, and in some even better than T-80).
And since PT-91M was mentioned... it is diffrent (and much better) tank from PT-91.

Sanity-X In reply to PatchKatz [2007-09-23 17:48:42 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I know there's a few tanks missing but I'll add those in as I go along. Currently planning to add the T-90, TAM, AMX-30, Ariete, Centurion and the K1 Type88 MBTs before moving on to miscellaneous support vehicles like the Shilka, BMP-2 and stuff like that. The 'Black Eagle' might be a problem though, since it's experimental the schematics are a little hard to come by...
And I see you were fooled by the size of the Su-27 too, lol! I think this might apply for other contemporary fighter jets too (and possibly even older propeller-driven craft!), but we'll know for sure when I make a chart for aircraft sometime in the distant future~ Cheers!

i think i've seen a schematic of the Black Eagle... if i find it, i'll make it arrive to you, ok?
yeah, and still i cant believe its a fighter... but it has proven to have amazing capabilities in modern dogfights and interception... and the weapons array is really wide... 9 pylons cant be underestimated

That would be most awesome! Thanks in advance, Kommandant~
And yes, the Su-27 is huge, it's a long range interceptor, and is one of the best of it's class in my books~ Kudos to Sukhoi! XD

i guess they are... I always wanted to be an aircraft designer... but the closest thing i've done are some drawings... nobody know what destiny would do, though...

Sanity-X In reply to PatchKatz [2007-09-25 16:36:45 +0000 UTC]
Who knows? Work at it and someday, I might just see an aircraft designed by you~
That would be so cool, cos' I'd tell my lads, "Hey, I knew the guy who designed that beautiful marvel of aeronautical perfection! Ain't it the most orgasmic piece of super-cruising, carbon-fibre wrapped poetry you'd ever seen?" ;D
ps: I don't make sense sometimes, I just like being a smartass about it~ XD
