Description
As I said before, I'll post the step by step of my artwork :1- sketch
2- "base" color (grey gradient) + shadows
3- volume
4- base color (multiply layer)
5- overlay layer (light source)
6- details
7- shining parts
8- sketch of background (ideas)
9- trying to do something lawl
10- added elements on the background and make the character visible to make the next part easier
11- overlay layer + multiply layer (lights and shades) in harmony with the character
12- detailing the background and the character
13- adjusting contrast.. Finished !
Hope this will be helpful ! ~

Quick question!! Why does some people use grayscale before inserting colors? I don't understand this, can you please explain? ;;

Grayscale is a way to do painting, I think it's a little bit easier than painting directly the colors, because you just have to manage gray shades to give the base shapes, volumes, shadows and lights :>

Cool, I like the colors, I use paint tool sai too, but I have a question...did you erase the grey colors before coloring or did you leave them and colored above them?
^_^
