One of my friends challenged me to draw Gen after we met an actual person named Genesis (The real person we met didn't resemble Gen in the slightest, and didn't know anything about FF7) and my friend had to explain to him who Gen was. The "summer challenge" was issued at a party just before the summer holidays. After swearing over my honor that I would get this drawing right, I gathered my pencils and other materials, and obsessed over my drawing, all while listening to music. I spent more time on this than I ever have on any other drawing. My friend instantly approved. It took me a while to get the courage to post this, though.
Genesis does not belong to me. He belongs to Square.

The Genesis who doesn't-know-FF7 didn't even get it when me and my friend were laughing our behinds off reciting LOVELESS and making FF7 references after we explained Genesis to him. His only similarity to Genesis from FF7 was that he loves poetry...
Or you could call Genesis up and then get him to turn Genesis into a Genesis copy...but that seems highly unlikely.
Once he plays (once you use mind control to make him play) maybe Genesis would become a Genesis fan, then he would get it if you threw LOVELESS at him.

fanfic is so frivolous; many of them don't keep the real characters mannerisms, feelings, the emotional way they react to things, and make the couple they ship WAY too INTO each other.Ugh...I don't think any normal person would do the things the writers make the characters do in fanfic. If a SephyXCloud was realistic, if Sephy was being Sephy, Cloud would be dead or destroyed. What really pisses me off is that most don't keep the original character of anybody!!!

whatever writer did that to Vincent just made Vincent suffer. Fans seem to be taking their little fantasies a just little too far sometimes. The things people think about and make up about things that are not even real...I'm not totally against fanfic, so long as said fanfic does not take things TOO far, and preserves most of the original emotional aspects of the character.
It's called Final FANTASY for a reason.

yeah, the characters in dA fanfics tend to be ooc, but many of the characters people write about and make fall in love, wouldn't really fall in love in the first place, like Sephiroth.
