Description
My version of Robert E. Howard's Hyboria.REH left no world map of his Hyborian Age, so many places are based on descriptions in his books or outright speculations.
I studied several existing maps [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] for this project, some are very different from each other. But I found also a few very similar maps, so I used mainly these for place names and positions, but changed a few things so that they fit - in my opinion - now better the descriptions. So the locations are a combination of existing positions and my own interpretation.
For the artistic part, however, I used my own style and approach; in this respect I can say the map has no resemblance to other existing Hyboria maps.

As great and detailed as this is, There's one minor mistake with it(not with the map itself, it's flawless and beautifully detailed). Howard did draw a map of the Hyborian age, it was a crude map that, if I'm not mistaken, he drew on a napkin, but he still drew it. You can find it in the Del Rey published series of three books that contained all the original Conan stories.

Thank you!
That's actually the most mentioned critique, so I guess there was the need for a good Hyboria map.

Its a great map. BTW - I came here from rpg.net.
How flexible are you with maps? You have a great body of work - so that make me think you know what the hell you are doing even when a comission only gives you the basics. I ask, because I am working on an rpg and comic (linked) and have the basic idea of the world, but a lot of the specifics in terms of geography would need to be filled in. When you take a job, how much detail do you need? How much can you change as the project progresses?
You have a spot in your upcoming schedule to help me put a fantasy world together?

Lovely stuff ... altho' I'm starting to get the sneaking suspicion you have a pretty good set of mountain and dune brushes hidden away

The first thing to do as professional cartographer: make your own brush set!
