Maine. I was walking in the water during low tide with my friend, and we happened upon a little gathering of hermit crabs in the water. It included this funny fellow out of his shell! I've always wondered what hermit crabs without a shell look like. And now I know! He was really small...probably smaller than an American nickel.Related content

Haha, I can happily tell you without lying that he was very much alive when I took a picture of him. His eyes and little feelers kept moving around. I have no idea why he was out of his shell (house swap, maybe?) but he seemed okay. And thank you!
