Description
I spent way too much time on this, and for that I hate it. My submission for 's contest. Round 2: Draw a potential scene for a future LBT movie.Well, we've seen Littlefoot and Cera fight all the time, but we've never really seen Petrie and Ducky fight before. Just try to imagine sweet little Ducky getting so angry that she starts screaming and crying at the same time. If your head starts to hurt trying to picture it, then you've got a pretty good understanding of Ducky's personality. I have NO idea what Petrie possibly could have done to make Ducky, of all people, this mad, but you never know. When I first heard about LBT 14 being in the works, I jokingly hoped for a scene where Petrie has a panic attack. To both my surprise and slight horror, there actually was a scene where Petrie suffered from something resembling a panic attack. So you never know what you'll get to see next movie.
Like I said, I spent way too much time on this. I knew I was gonna go all out for it as soon as I started working on those trees in the background. I also added plenty of details that really add to the piece without standing out too much. Notice how Ducky's eyes are slightly red from crying, and how Petrie's eyes are slightly watery as though he's holding back tears. I've also given Petrie an actual eye color- gray. I'm sick of seeing him with little black dots for pupils and no irises, I swear. When it came to shading, I couldn't seem to make anything work at first. When I realized that none of my normal shading techniques were going to work, I opted to shade it in a similar way to the cell-shading used in the movies, which I think worked out pretty well. Given the complexity of the background, making the coloring and shading contrast to it makes the characters stand out more, so that they aren't lost in it. I would also like to note that the ground Petrie and Ducky are standing on was made in a different program (specifically Paint.Net, for those who wish to know), because ArtRage is a little bitch that hates me.
MINOR EDIT: I forgot to darken Petrie's fingers to make them more visible, so I fixed that.

How did you do the trees? Did you draw them?

I did indeed draw them, yes. It's been awhile, so i don't quite remember how exactly. But i did freehand them and i did shade and color using the same tool, which i believe was the crayon tool. Artrage 3 has a fantastic crayon tool compared to other programs i've used.

So improvable, and you portrayed accurately how it would be, makes you think, what could have happened to them to feel like that?, outstanding work

I can see Ducky doing like what they did in Fantastic Mr Fox where all the swear words are replaced with "cuss" because I just can't see her doing.
"Cuss you Petrie, you make me so mad sometimes!"
And look at that scowl on Petrie...wonder what he did???

Ducky and Petrie to me seem the most unlikely two dinosaurs to get into an argument.

This is true, I admit. Still, it would depend on the situation. Ducky getting mad at Spike also seems implausible without the context of the 8th movie, so you never know!

True. I am just simply saying that Ducky and Petrie getting mad at each other seems very unlikely.

What was the program that you used to draw this? It's cool.

Artrage 3. The ground they are standing on was done separately on Paint.Net.
Artrage came with my tablet, and Paint.Net is a free download.

Pfff... I know. I seem to be giving them a lot of attention lately, haven't I? Normally, that would be a good thing.... But this is ME giving the attention here. I do feel a little bad for them, though.

Because I have a habit of drawing either neutral or sad drawings, and I like to make the characters I'm drawing suffer.

W-wow... Jaw dropped! The original idea and damn the background... it feels like you actually made a frame to a new LBT movie There style and the shading are so well grasped... I love it! And yes, I would also like to see the writers implement fresh ideas to give their franchise a second wind, there 14th movie was a hit

I knew I was in for a ride when I started drawing the ground in Paint. friggin Net. The decision to cell-shade the characters didn't happen till after the background was more-or-less finished, but it turned out rather nice in hindsight. I attribute my decent grasp of the art-style and shading to all the references I used- I didn't copy the poses from them (I did, however, copy the colors), but I did depend on them quite a bit when it came to drawing Ducky. Ducky's only easy to draw when you have references.
Fresh ideas... that would be nice. 14 was good, but I noticed quite a few parallels between it and the first film. I would point out the particular scene that this is most obvious in, but for the sake of those who haven't seen the film yet I'll keep my mouth shut.
