Puh.. I thought I´d never finish it in time and to be honest I regret that I´ve started painting it so late. I´m not satisfied with the outcome, because you can clearly see that I rushed it in the end, but well...It´s my contest entry for
The contest was about a big crossover of a famous movie or other dragon related character together with one´s OC.
You had to pick a number and then I was told I had to cross with Avatar by James Cameron.
Not a bad theme at all. I really like this movie, so I used the marvelous landscape of Avatar for the background. I love those floating mountains (:

This is awesome! The background is just amazing, and I really like Nahéchak's design! But at first sight one can have the impression that the dragon doesn't fit so good in the landscape, I guess it's because he's outlined whereas the background isn't... Well, I still love it, you're one of the best dragon artists I've ever seen!

yeah you´re right, I think so the same way, the one realistic and the other outlined!? It doesn´t fit together very well. But the dragon was just merging with the background so much that I had to do something , though I regret outlining him, but oh well..

So marvelous!!! I really love your background scene! It looks incredibly beautiful! It's depth is very well-expressed, too!! I wish I could draw background like you!
But to be honest, your dragon looks not as satisfying as your background (I guess it's because of the rush at the end?). The spine is a little bit too straight (It's supposed to be curved, like human's spine). That straightness is also applied on the wings.
but, generally, this is an awesome drawing! Your character fits the scene completely and i feel like it's actually moving!! You've done a very nice job there!!!

heh you got it exactly right, I painted the background first and just painted the dragon so that it´s finally finished. Wahh I regret it everytime when I loose interest in the middle of a painting and just rush it to the end... but well the deadline was yesterday so I was totally stressed
