Oh it's okay, black was not the best idea haha. ><

So the triangles at the bottom of the back parts are there to pinch the bottom of the back of the head into a slightly smaller shape. So the cuts are like this: ^ You just put either side of the V together and sew them up to where they meet. Make sure you are sewing them together on the same side of the fabric as the other seam you've already made.

I hope that helps

question. How do you do the long hair thing? I get that you cut off half of that one part but how is it supposed to be sewn together with the rest of the head n all? I'm clueless. XD

SarahForde In reply to Tabby-chan15 [2012-01-15 17:22:49 +0000 UTC]

Ahh it's kind of hard to explain in words, but after you cut the back of the head in half you just sew it back together with the hanging part in the seam. Does that even slightly help? ^_^;

owo ...... You lost me at "just sew it back together with the hanging part in the seam". Could you make another video for it or something some time? XD

Wow. This was really helpful! Thank you!

I just started to use a pattern similar to this (body is different but head is the same) and I kinda mostly figured it out but your tip about sewing the bangs on first? Absolutely genius! I never thought of that before and it makes it so much easier later on

MattSandwich In reply to SarahForde [2011-01-25 17:35:53 +0000 UTC]

alright, thanks. did you draw the eyes yourself and then print them onto the iron on?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to MattSandwich [2011-01-25 17:51:09 +0000 UTC]

I used to print them but I hate my printer with a passion so now I draw them. First I do a pencil outline, then I do the color parts in colored pencil. Then I iron them on and I do the black outlines in ink at the end.

QTZephyr In reply to ??? [2011-01-25 02:37:02 +0000 UTC]

This tutorial just saved me like, two steps when I'm sewing hair. Because I used to sew all the way across, then cut, then restitch.

Now I'll just sew to the triangle. Genius.

Sometimes you just need someone else to be like, "LOOK DO IT EASIER." Steve totally did that for me yesterday haha

Should we be worried about pinning through the iron-on transfers? I've never used them before, is why I ask.
