This is uber helpful...and the kitty interruptions reminds me of another helper I have every time I get to sewing or doing anything...He(my helper Chaos) likes to just lay across everything. LOL

Wow, helpfulness. Question, if I'm making this character here... [link] How would I do the head and ears? would I do the same thing for the hair just with white fabric? the ears are probably the most confusing to me...

SarahForde In reply to misty101101102 [2011-06-29 10:41:52 +0000 UTC]

yeah white fabric should work, and for the ears you just sew them into the seam. I have seen people attach the ears on after, too. If you look at this LiveStream video starting around 1:55 that's when I start putting the ears in, though I do it backwards the first time and then I have to take it apart and do it again haha. I hope that helps!

Does the body need as much stuffing as the head?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to lelouch-suzaku [2011-03-09 02:44:05 +0000 UTC]

I don't think I stuff the bodies quite that much

I thank you so much for making these videos! Now making plushies will be so much easier! Can't tell you how many times, I nearly quit when it came to making the head. Instructions are sometimes unclear, like you said. Thanks again!

What kind of glue would you suggest/recommend for this? I can't imagine Elmer's or hot glue would be best....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to MeliPixie [2011-01-26 19:48:36 +0000 UTC]

I don't use any glue in this section of the tutorial but when I do use glue I use Beacon 527 Multi-Use Glue. It smells horrible

MeliPixie In reply to SarahForde [2011-01-27 04:26:14 +0000 UTC]

Oh I noticed you didn't use any... Which is why I wondered which type to use! <3

SarahForde In reply to MeliPixie [2011-01-26 19:49:09 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh a few people have said that it looks like I put a lot of stuffing in xD I guess I just like them to be firm? xD

MattSandwich In reply to ??? [2011-01-25 06:13:33 +0000 UTC]

are you going to do one for the body? I think you should, hint hint

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to MattSandwich [2011-01-25 13:55:05 +0000 UTC]

But that part is so easy!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MattSandwich In reply to SarahForde [2011-01-25 17:35:11 +0000 UTC]

Is it? I never tried haha.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to MattSandwich [2011-01-25 17:52:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah for the body and arms you just sew around with the two pieces flat together. Leave it open at the top for stuffing and turning

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MattSandwich In reply to SarahForde [2011-01-25 17:55:48 +0000 UTC]

oh alright, that is easy haha. And I'm guessing for the clothes you make them go around the whole body and then sew at the back?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to MattSandwich [2011-01-25 17:57:35 +0000 UTC]

I have different patterns for different clothes. Usually there's a front and a back for things like pants and shirts and stuff. In my Tutorials folder there's a pattern for a sailor fuku

MattSandwich In reply to SarahForde [2011-01-25 17:59:38 +0000 UTC]

Oh alright, I'll remember to check that out since I'll need the fuku

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahForde In reply to MattSandwich [2011-01-25 18:20:41 +0000 UTC]

You might have to adjust it a bit for the body pattern.
