This is uber helpful...and the kitty interruptions reminds me of another helper I have every time I get to sewing or doing anything...He(my helper Chaos) likes to just lay across everything. LOL

Wow, helpfulness. Question, if I'm making this character here... [link] How would I do the head and ears? would I do the same thing for the hair just with white fabric? the ears are probably the most confusing to me...

yeah white fabric should work, and for the ears you just sew them into the seam. I have seen people attach the ears on after, too. If you look at this LiveStream video starting around 1:55 that's when I start putting the ears in, though I do it backwards the first time and then I have to take it apart and do it again haha. I hope that helps!

Does the body need as much stuffing as the head?

I don't think I stuff the bodies quite that much

I thank you so much for making these videos! Now making plushies will be so much easier! Can't tell you how many times, I nearly quit when it came to making the head. Instructions are sometimes unclear, like you said. Thanks again!

What kind of glue would you suggest/recommend for this? I can't imagine Elmer's or hot glue would be best....

I don't use any glue in this section of the tutorial but when I do use glue I use Beacon 527 Multi-Use Glue. It smells horrible

Is it? I never tried haha.

SarahForde In reply to MattSandwich [2011-01-25 17:52:21 +0000 UTC]
Yeah for the body and arms you just sew around with the two pieces flat together. Leave it open at the top for stuffing and turning

MattSandwich In reply to SarahForde [2011-01-25 17:55:48 +0000 UTC]
oh alright, that is easy haha. And I'm guessing for the clothes you make them go around the whole body and then sew at the back?

SarahForde In reply to MattSandwich [2011-01-25 17:57:35 +0000 UTC]
I have different patterns for different clothes. Usually there's a front and a back for things like pants and shirts and stuff. In my Tutorials folder there's a pattern for a sailor fuku

You might have to adjust it a bit for the body pattern.
