I have made a pastel tutorial, because some people haveasked me to do so and I could not even find a pastel tutorial at
DA, which quite surprised me. There were some links, but you know what they say: out there be monsters
What a lovely surprise to be on DA facebook's frontpage.

Soft pastels are rather messy if that's why you want to change? Oils are not of coarse.
But I'm sorry can't tell you anything about oil pastels, I've never used them.

I think you as the artist earn a bit of money each time your work is bought as a print. I would check with the information on dA, as I've never made a print myself.

I used to have soft pastels back in college. I really like it better than oil pastels. I eventually gave up on it because of it's messiness and the thought I'll never going to master it. After seeing this tutorial, I decided to try soft pastels again. This time I'll be more patient

No these are soft pastels, they crumble if you drop them.
There is usually a piece of paper around each pastel.
Oil pastels are quite different.
