I'm just curious what method you use to transfer your drawing to your velour paper? Loved the tutorial, the steps are all clear and there are no real jumps in your process. Thanks for sharing your technique!

After a lot of sketching on ordinary paper I transfer my drawing to the velours by smearing in the backside of the paper with the flat side of a soft pastel. Then lay it down softly on the velours and trace the lines I want with a mechanical pencil, a thin one, and don't use to much pressure otherwise the velours will get indented.

that's useful, you are really a best artist! And I use this tutorial with my eagle on paper, but still can't, I don't know how to shading these feathers at panel 3 :"(

Excellant tutorial and picture! Im trying to improve my pastel skills to this quality. I love soft pastel , but Im about to attempt oil pastels. Any suggestions oil pastels would be greatly appreciated. Again the owl is excellant I look forward to seeing more of your work!
