uggggh...i have so many other things i should be updating, but i was driving home and this just sort of popped into my head, as things are wont to do when i drive at night...i should have gone to bed an hour ago and instead i drove around thinking about the stupid picture for however long it takes to listen to Within Temptation's song Pale twelve times and then scribbled this out.
*sigh* i didn't really decide if it was L's grave or Mello's, but doesn't really matter, they're both dead anyway. DN is really depressing, you know?
i think i should probably go crash now instead of rambling at you all about dumb stuff

This is a nicely dark and desolate scene, the colors and details are just amazing. I love how you did Near and his posiion on that hill in front of those stones really gives it more of a desolate quality. I'm just going to imagine both Mello and L's graves are right there.

The mist and the trees and the glowy dandelion clocks are so pretty! Poor Near looks so down. That swirly brush shape coming in from the right looks too happy to me, if that makes any sense. It's taking away a lot of the gloominess, but perhaps it was supposed to do that! I would imagine that the big stone is L's and the littler one Mello's.. so, yeah.

does it? yeah, after kinda looking at it a bit more i see what you mean. actually i added it in more to add a little more light and movement through the middle there, bc i sort of hoped to increase the contrast of light and dark on the right side and kind of have a sense of moving toward the blended sort of area where things just melt together. well, haha, maybe i overthought it a little. i don't generally use brushes because they looks so '

Well, I don't think it looks out of place or pasted in, it looks good, it just looks like a ray of light or something positive and pretty. Maybe if you gaussian blurred it, it would look more like a ghostly thing or sweeping wind and still do the light and attention drawage work? Anyway, the pic is great as it is!

Brilliant usage of brushes! I'm in love with this melancholic image you have in your mind of Near visiting either of their graves. Pale... just like the surrounding, just like the look on his face. Dandelions in the wind, bringing his unspoken words to them... DN is indeed depressing. T__T
