"Beautiful, really, in a twisted, stomach-achish sort of way" is the feeling I get from this...To me, she's running away- there's a city in the background, but we don't know if she's escaping to or from it. And even though it's raining, and maybe things suck sometimes, there's a little bit of sunshine, even if we can't always see it?
Whatever it is, I love it.

I want to let you know that I find this very... Wow. o.o
Even though I can't see the girl's face, her pose and the colors you used really bring out a certain emotion, and it's just as if I can see the girl's expression although it's hidden. The meaning isn't lost on me, and the whole picture is beautiful in a slightly (strangely?) heartbreaking way. I don't know if that's how you meant it to be, but that's how I see it.

well when I drew it I was mostly thinking of a place that's really special to me. I saw her as dreaming and closing the rest of the world out while she sort of focused in on the flower in her hands...I actually considered drawing her hair tucked behind her shoulder so just a smile could be seen and I ended up changing my mind and leaving it in the title instead. not sure if any of that translates, but I'm fine with it being open to interpretation, lol
