• Want your own Book of Mudora? I'm now offering this as a made to order custom over at YumeStyle on Etsy! [link]I managed to have enough commissions at once to take this lovely picture. Obviously not all of them are finished yet but I like the effect of so may at once, regardless. I LOVED making that brown one. Really awesome request for that one and it's probably going to be one of my favourites for a loong time to come. ♥
Every single book I make on commission has minor design differences on the cover regardless of personal request- this is one of those things I do to make each one unique in it's own way.
Original book design that started this:

omg, they look awesome! How do you make them? I'd love to make some books myself, but there are no good tutorials as far as I've found, do you know some tutorials or tell me how to or something like that? c:

Well... I do have this policy not to give out tutorials for things I sell..so... :/
I didn't use any for the books I paint though, I just worked out my own method. Maybe that alone will help you. :3

These are beautiful
Are those the front or back covers?

They're the front. The way the books open is flipped from standard books because the original artwork for the Book of Mudora from A Link to the Past was shown "Japanese style". Books in Japan open "backwards" and I thought it would be a fun sort of commemoration to the art and games as well as their origin. :3

What game is the script from? I speak the fan-made language, and I'm learning the twilight princess script.

You must be talking about another fan made language? I know there's at least one other besides the one I'm working on- unless you actually mean the old data from Hyrule Realm? That would be a trip. hehe
The script uses on and in the book are alterations of the OoT and Skyward Sword alphabets, both adapted to The Hylian Language Project, something I've been putting work into off and on since not long after the release of OoT. Wish I had more up, but my old dictionaries were a bit of a mess and real life keeps getting in the way of me putting the full language work back online in a way people can actually use... What I do have up now is here for now: [link]

Okay, thanks! The one I know is the one made by Kasuto, its on her own website. I think its one of the first ones that comes up in a google search.
Okay, I'm deffinately going to learn this one! (I'm determind to learn them all)

haha Kasuto's a guy actually, and I know of his work. What bothers me is that it always seemed like he never cared much for his language, and then gave it up to his forums. Not to say they're doing wrong with it, but I know what happens when the original author of something just scraps it. My Hylian language project is my baby, I love languages, and it's something I've really been passionate about for years.
But in the end? It's always up to personal opinion as to who'll like which version. All I can say is, give mine a shot. If you want some details or short translations that aren't up yet, feel free to PM/Note me. ^_^

Oops, I'm silly : X (I just generally put things in the feminine because I'm a girl ) I haven't much looked at other hylian language projects, but I know that I should. I'm writing a legend of zelda musical, and I'm thinking of having some hylian jokes in it. I believe some collaborations are in order.
And I might just go and learn your language

Haha that's fine! I've done the same thing.
I'm not even sure if any of the other language projects are around anymore. Some I had heard about on forums and in passing but never really saw them amount to anything. Mine...though it's mostly offline, seems to be the most updated and active. I hope to keep it that way, even if it's a slow progress.
And feel free! I have a lot more language stuff sitting in my head and hard drives than I have online right now. ^_^

Thank you! I'm hoping to get more people wanting changes like that. Maybe not the same, but just differences. I really want to do a different Triforce on the front of one of them at some point. ^^'

I have every intention of making myself a fully hand made leather bound version at some point. As well as one for a friend that we've been discussing. Whether or not I sell them mainly depends on the time and materials. It'll be a future project. :3

That was one of my ideaa. I know a little bit about metal and leather work both and have planned to look into ideas and options and just go with what will look the most authentic really. :3
