Description THIS IS THE FONT VERSION OF THE FULL ANCIENT HYLIAN ALPHABET:

Now before you question how and where...yes I DID reinvent and fully create the missing letters. This is my "full" alphabet version which can be used with the Hylian Language. Call it, if you will, the Goddesses Hylian?

I did my best to make the new characters work well with the preexisting ones, and some are only slight alterations due to their relation to the root characters. There are 52 unique letters, but the basic A-Z can be used for English writing (the short i with one dot over it should be used for most English words).

I'm going to post up more information on how to use this, as well as my other Hylian alphabet in due time, but for now you can just refer to this really crummy hand written chart!

General Information
This is based on the Ancient Hylian from the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
The chart for the game version is here: [link]
and the game accurate font can be downloaded here: [link]

This version has additional characters which are needed to work with my fan created Hylian Language, which uses characters which translate to basic roman as well as syllabary letters.
This version of Ancient Hylian can be used in the same way as my more "modern" Hylian.
I have a wallpaper helper for that version here: [link]
And the font for that version can be downloaded here: [link]

My Hylian Language used to be hosted at Hyrule Realm. As I haven't been able to get the site back up due to personal life issues sapping my time, I will eventually be putting the language back online on a new site dedicated solely to the language. In the meantime I plan on getting some information back up here on DA as I can in the near future.
If you have any questions about the language, please send me a note.
For those of you who remember Hyrule Realm, I'm so terribly sorry that I had to take it down! I haven't forgotten, and I will get the language back online for use, it's just a lot of work. I hope you can all understand, and I very much appreciate the continued support. β™₯

β€’ I am fully aware of the fact that some of these look similar to Japanese Katakana and Hiragana. Contrary to those of you who want to say they ARE Japanese however, none of these are identical to Japanese kana and the similarities are not intentional. Any further commentary on the similarities are not necessary. Thank you anyway.

and the q?

Sarinilli In reply to alucardprowerthedark [2018-03-29 18:15:30 +0000 UTC]

When writing in English or other languages which have q, substitute with "ku"; either the syllabary character or single letters work fine.

Due note, this variation of the alphabet is for my language project. You can find out more about usage by checking the lessons here:Β

Are the characters that you used to mean, ch, de, fa Etc. in the actual game (Skyward Sword).

Sarinilli In reply to ZeldaAwesomeGinger [2017-09-22 18:25:32 +0000 UTC]

No; this is my own adaption, so the syllable characters are my own creation made to fit the style. Most are adapted from the in-game base alphabet.

If you were looking for just the game-only version of the alphabet, I have the font for that here:Β

Sarinilli In reply to Zaxuo [2017-07-24 22:50:07 +0000 UTC]

It's based on the Skyward Sword alphabet, with my own adaptive work to add the additional characters for my language project.

I linked to this in my most recent upload, I used it to write a note to my niece. I am not sure how to structure a sentence in Hylian though

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Sarinilli In reply to ChupaCabraThing [2016-04-05 02:44:53 +0000 UTC]

Since the letter is still in English with Hylian writing, the structure is just fine as-is. You only have to worry about the sentence structure and grammar if you want to actually use the language it's self. :3

Props to you on using the correct i for the use! The only thing I have to ask though; is her name Samii? Or Savi...? You have to be careful with the extra spots in some letters; as you wrote it, it could be v, but I'm assuming you meant to write mi.Β
If you ever have any questions on the alphabet or language project, you're more than welcome to ask me. :3

Sarinilli In reply to GodBlessTheDucks [2012-11-02 01:36:29 +0000 UTC]

Haha that's pretty interesting...maybe your "Elfish" is actually an obscure regional written dialect of Hylian? xD

tatsu-okami [2012-09-25 02:49:21 +0000 UTC]

What I've always wondered is what the base for spoken Hylian dialect is. I'm assuming that Fi in Skyward Sword is speaking in Hylian; sometimes it sounds very close to Japanese, but other times it sounds like no language I know of.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Sarinilli In reply to tatsu-okami [2012-09-25 03:22:21 +0000 UTC]

It's more like garbled Japanese yes... umm..I have a pretty intricate fan language. What's in the games is just...interesting sounds. Can't say I haven't used some of them for words though. hehe
