Indeed... My somewhat cynical point was that the overall vast majority of the Bionicle fanbase agrees with you to the umpteenth degree.
I thought the Stars series was a solid enough group of sets... as supporting sets, at least. As the last wave for a 10-year-old toy series that had brought LEGO Mata Nui-knows how many millions(or probably billions) of dollars in profit, it was really weak, and a slap in the face to all us loyal fans who had been gladly throwing our money at LEGO for the past decade.
That's one of the main reasons I completely boycotted the Hero Factory franchise. It just added insult to injury, in my opinion.
I'm just glad LEGO learned from their mistakes and revived Bionicle. It's not as solid as the old stuff, but the story is made of the same stuff that made the original Bionicle line great.

Well, not since 1994, I believe, when LEGO got the rights to make Star Wars stuff. That, Bionicle and a new, smarter CEO was what saved LEGO from bankruptcy actually. They were losing millions of dollars every year because of bad marketing and poorly designed sets that were more expensive to produce than the profits they were making on them.
Also, we just don't talk about the Galador line...

Galidor was the single-most terrible line LEGO ever came out with. I'll bet at least one person got fired over it.

As you can see, there were no real customization options for these sets, which completely defeats the purpose of LEGO pieces. The line had a tv show that was VERY short-lived, and basically ripped off Ben 10.
Believe it or not, Galidor came out in the midst of Bionicle, kind of like the Knight's Kingdom action figures. Except, unlike the Knight's Kingdom figures, the Galidor line was an utter disaster.

uhm well see it that way: those who pleaded to lego had a realy hard time to convince lego for making those sets it would be a bit risky and nearly impossible to convince lego to do something bigger

My anger in this case is towards the Lego company itself, I mean, we're the reason gen one lasted so long. We actually purchased the Lego sets because they were both fun, and part of a story, and to just go and give us a small, cruddy wave of Av matoran just felt like a slap in the FACE!!!

Frankly, I for one was more in it for the story by then, so when it did end up being over--finished, I was mostly like, And I quote Optimus Primal here, "It's done. All is as it should be. At Last." Then I found out about the online serials sometime later and noticed some loose ends lying around. I decided to purge said loose ends by making some changes to some of those serials, enough that it won't badly alter the course of the timeline, but enough as to not cause a paradox for my Fan-Fic "Generation 2" (Don't be fooled by the name; the reboot has no involvement here)

Is it just me, or is anything that has the words, "generation 2" slapped on it just destined to fail?Β Like seriously, between bionicle and transformers, Generation 2 seems to be a curse upon both franchises and failed toylines.

Actually, A: I think that's too focused on the Glatorian, so I'd go with Macku of the Matoran, Tarix of the Glatorian, Iruini of the Toa Hagah, Hewkii of the Toa Mahri, Kopaka of the Toa Nuva, and Tahu, the sole Toa Mata in existence.
