Huh... Reviewing the scene for it, I see that Gali pulls her axes out of her chest too. Interesting that Lewa does it... And, nope, nothing too horrific. Just evil, vile, killer snake-like Rahkshi.

"snake-like Rahkshi" Those are the Kraata. However their staffs just extend out of their empty hands. Not to mention that Kopaka can't be near high amounts of heat for too long. Yet he just chills out infront of the pool of lava. What bothers me more, that the first three escaped the frozen lake because the ice melted. That lake may not be in an area to freeze by naturally, but seriously. That is a seriously low tempatured area. How can something just melt there? Also, they were surely quite busy recovering the staffs that they dropped, when Kopaka's weapon knocked them out from hovering.
Also, the Rahkshi flies by Kopaka two times. And just before that. When the Rahkshi are approaching them, NONE of them uses the staffs. The attack just spawns from above. Bit later when they're escaping. One of the Rahkshi from the hill top is missing and another attack out of nowhere appears. And then there's Takua's mask. It always gets loose, while other Matoran's masks are being firmly on their heads, like it's actually part of their heads, not an accessory to wear. It's kinda like in real life others are wearing hats and it's firmly on, but your hat sometimes almost slips off for no reason.
