Neck feathers fluffed with head feathers flat – pleased/delighted
Body fluffed, head flat – threatened/anxious
Head feathers fluffed, body flat – alert
Head and neck fluffed – angry
Feathers flared but not fluffed – hiding/scared/hunting
Tail swishing – back off!
Arms raised out to the side, claws bared, mouth gaped – I’m dangerous
Tail raised – I’m horny
Feathers flat – I’m harmless!
Bowing – wary/cautious/protective
