4/3/18: Check it out! I want to point out specifically that the hand painted textures mentioned on the premade map pricing refers to aesthetic textures, not biomes. I entirely understand the confusion though since I wasn't very clear with my terminology.

;_; These look so good and professional. Been trying to create my own global map but I have yet to even figure out the land shapes.

May you tell us what canvas size you work with when doing the maps?

Yeah land shapes are hard. Takes a lot of time to carve them down into something that feels good. D:

Big. The premade maps I offer come in two sizes - world map size with multiple continents and is 10,000px x 8000px, and a single landmass size that is around 5000px x 5000px give or take.

I think the hardest part is getting something that looks good but also makes sense, without it looking like Earth... aka everything. LOL

And 10Kpx makes sense. I actually kind of expected bigger tbh. I wish I didn't mind working that big since I get so frustrated scrolling up and down when zoomed in.

Nothing wrong with earthlike in the details I mean unless your intention is to be unearlike as possible. Nasa photos make a really good learning resource.

I work at full view for almost the entire process and only ever go into maybe 66-100% to handle final details and make sure it looks clean but I'm also working on a 27 inch 2k monitor. Its high enough resolution that you can print the 10ks out at almost 4ft wide.

Oh, ahaha, I meant to not make the landshapes look like earth. x_x; (I don't mind making the textures and details seem earth-like otherwise.) I want to think that creating landshapes that simply differ from earth would be easy enough, but I guess it has its difficulties.

But oh damn, that's a def nice monitor. One day I hope to get a bigger one. I realize that I actually like bigger monitors. I was used to smaller ones (because I liked that I can look at the monitor without moving my eyes/head) but now that I've been drawing more and with a bigger canvas, bigger monitors been a lot more attractive.
