Description Of all the Armies of Warhammer 40K Games Workshop decided to Update next, it had to be Sisters of Battle...
Necrons have been taken off the line for months which normally indicates update are coming but they were yet again undercutted, while Tau remain almost unwinable unless the stars alight and you follow the only competitive army list TO THE LETTER.

I have no idea why Sisters are being updating, because game wise and in Lore wise they are stupid.
Think Salamanders Space Marines with Grey Knights looks only with tits and you pretty much got the basic idea, you know theres another Salamanders type army out there, you know what its call? SALAMANDERS.

I am so, so, SO dissappointed with you Games Workshop =_=

Could be worse. Dark Eldar didn't receive a proper update until 7th ed, four editions AFTER they first appeared.

Maybe, but back in those days when Tau 4th has been there for ages while everyone else was reaping 5th and 6th updates it was really frustrating to read that SoB of all things was getting updated rules.

Though with sisters of battle, their first codex was in 2nd ed, so it kinda makes sense that they'd receive an update during 5th ed.

But yeah, I can see what you mean.

Yeah, its like "We got the Necrons needing an update soon guys!" "Shit! lets delay this a bit more with a pointless White Dwarf update on an Army no one wants to play as anymore!"

I think its because they are a less used army so they wanted to introduce them to more, newer players

Hmmmm, Most likely, I am a regular player that just wants to see updated stuff i'm already used to so I guess I don't normally see it that way >_>

well i'm a guard and space wolf army so I dont really care when an another army gets updated (unless its by matt ward then i'll have to burn them to the ground and purge the un-holy filth)

lets just say the space marine codex is 90% ultra-smurf fan fiction by matt ward and therfore canon. and he only made driago so over powered because he couldnt bring back robourt guilliman

Sarukin In reply to gazzz477 [2011-08-16 21:06:29 +0000 UTC]

Driago has truely rediculous fluff, same as most of the nancy pancy pretty boy idiots in the Blood Angels, like that guy Tycho is it? the one that losses half his face? Most stupid reason to join the Death company ever. (Even though I like the fluff of the Death Company o3o)
All Grey Knights have stupid fluff, Ultramarines... yeah they are over done, no one ever does indetail work of the Salamanders or the Raven Guard who are much more likeable than "WE ARE ULTRAMARINES, HERP DERP"

tycho later went insane and killed an entire platoon of death company during armageddon.
and apparently blood angels and necrons are best buds. in the codex it says that they joined the necrons to kill a chaos greater deamon then 'peacefully parted ways' (that last bit is actually what it says in the codex!)

I should say that although I can empathize with your pain on this no one suffered nearly as long as the Dark Eldar players (myself being one of them) who waited since the Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition release of Codex: Dark Eldar in 1998, no new army book had been published until 2010. Necrons were updated with 4th Ed and Tau have been updated twice since the release of 4th Ed. (once at the time of release in 2001 and updated in 2006). Now I do agree that the schedule for updates does seem to show preferential treatment to Imperial Forces in particular the Space Marines, Space Marines and Space Marines and Sisters of Battle could have waited a bit longer but be patient like all us Dark Eldar Archons were because to those who wait all good things come.

what, you want the tau or necrons to get a crappy white dwarf codex with no new models for their "update" instead?

Sarukin In reply to SoylentRobot [2011-08-11 15:06:25 +0000 UTC]

Heck no, I'm not THAT desperate for a Tau update.
I just want GW to stop delaying and "get on with it" in the words of Monty Python, with a proper codex and not some twaddle on some tracing paper.

Judging from all the complaints from SoB players, I'd say the Tau/Necrons got off easy.

I'm not wondered that GW updated SoB first. Look at dA. Nearly every 40k related painting/sketch/whatever that doesn't feature Space Marines features SoB. And enough of those with Space Marines do as well. If the minis where more attractive designed and not completelly of tin there where more players.
New Codex=New Minis (hopefully)=More Money. And a WD-Codex isn't as expensive as a printed one.

As for myself i would have prefered a new Necron-Codex as i find them most interesting of these three. And without the old alliance-rules the new SoB-Codex is worthless for me.

Well thats the thing! Necrons where supposed to be the update now! Thats why I have rage face for GW at the moment because now they are just trying to make Cron players cry. ;A;

Docile-Dragon In reply to Sarukin [2011-08-10 17:26:14 +0000 UTC]

The sisters of battle got a codex update that didn't really change anything and they aren't getting any new models. I had a chance to look at the codex and there really wasn't much there. I doubt we'll be seeing many Sisters armies in the near future.

You can no longer buy the Necron codex on the GW site. Which is what they have done in the past when they were getting ready to release a new army. SO, thankfully, they ARE getting their codex next and I'm happy for all the Cron players because they NEED it!
