Maybe I've had too much exposure to Japan lately.

Sorry that I usually don't add comments after I fav! I have wireless internet, and I'm lucky if I get to see the pictures in the first place without getting disconnected, let alone actually comment on them.

Butuhmyeah. I've always wondered about that <<,>>

FairyNever [2008-10-20 20:16:38 +0000 UTC]

ACTUALLY...
it's NOT a star that you follow at ALL.
Disney added the word "star" - it's not what Barrie wrote.
But the real answer will further perplex you.
The directions to the Neverland are:
Second to the right, and straight on 'til morning.

Second to the right of WHAT? you ask?
It's not. It isn't even correct. For Barrie tells you that Peter Pan said whatever popped into his head at the moment.
It doesn't mean anything.

And although Spielberg's "Hook" might be fun, it compeltely contradicts Barrie's original stories. All of the other Pan tales do.
Except one.

Oh YES!!!! That movie is definately a classic! I always wondered that too...right of what? the moon? the North Star? What?

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

that-disturbedguy [2008-10-20 18:45:21 +0000 UTC]

Isn't it in the north direction..like there's the North Star..and then the second star to the right is Neverland? I might have just completely made that up..but that's how I seem to remember it. If that is the case..then does the right part mean..the second star to the right of the north star..like there's the north star..then next to it is another star..and then next to that is neverland...hmmmm I dunno..I think what I said is just as confusing lol.

One other thing... you should really think about putting copyright thingies on your pictures, because any butthole-sniffing space case could steal your work and claim it as theirs. Your stuff is definitely good enough to be stolen...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sashamya In reply to CaylexTimewise [2008-10-20 17:49:25 +0000 UTC]

my stuff's already been stolen many times. ends up all over myspace and photobucket, dumbasses on da reposting it, people pretending to be me, etc. i've already got my sig on them but the only way to deter it is to smack a big fat watermark across it, and i don't really like doing that because it makes it hard to view the image. (that or make the images too small for people to do anything with, like bara-chan does). i'm too lazy to go back and watermark all 1,000+ images, so i just deal with it when it crops up. hell, sometimes people still steal things w/ watermarks on them.

CaylexTimewise In reply to sashamya [2008-10-20 17:56:09 +0000 UTC]

I must be a complete and total dork, because they used that line in one of the Original Star Trek movies (#6 I think), and that's the only place I knew that line from. I had no idea it had anything to do with Hook/Peter Pan/whatever. Wow. I must've been really sheltered.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sashamya In reply to DarkShadowPrince [2008-10-20 14:33:33 +0000 UTC]

yes but the second start to the right of big ben would change based on how tall you were and from where/what direction you were facing big ben. move 2 feet and it's gonna be different.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DarkShadowPrince In reply to sashamya [2008-10-21 06:14:38 +0000 UTC]

I don't see how it changes by how tall you are if theres only two stars, which in the cartoon there were xD And they always fly straight at the face of the clock, so I assumed you get your view from there, find the second from the right of the face of big ben, and go that way.

Perhaps there is an interstellar date line by which fairies and lost boys customarily navigate the skies?

Or maybe everybody in Neverland is high.

Either way, yay!

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

WritingRin [2008-10-20 04:13:00 +0000 UTC]

Bleh. Yeah. They always kind of just show a close up of the sky, and make you assume it's the furthest star on the right of the screen. But Wendy doesn't exactly get a handy little close up does she? So I don't get how that works.

But I have thought that maybe he's pointing out the North Star and the second star on the right from it, is how you get to never never land?

Don't suppose the book's any more forthcoming? Anyone read it?

I love your girl's faces.

It's funny how you can point out some of the obvoius miss leads of some books and movies.

I love their expressions as they look at the camera, especailly Sasha. her face expression and her black shirt really match with her character and mood in this. The simple colors of their eyes really brings out that expression.

Hook is a good movie, I have to find it and watch it again just for a chance to see that dinner table seen with the foot fight XD.
