Description
This was probably the hardest pastel i have ever drawn. cause of its shear size and the amount of detail i put in it. It took so long to complete. I love the look of their faces they look so innocent. They appear to almost know what their fate is going to be. You can see how alike we are to them through the appearance of their hards and facial expressions.Related content

this is beautiful. I saw this after looking at your gallery and seeing the bone art and thinking, "here's an odd fella", but the pastels are fantastic

I liked seeing them when i lived in Malaysia, i have told her if we go for two weeks i want to spend some of the time photographing other Flora and Fauna.

Thanx yeah the apes were the hardest. It was so time consuming i almost gave up to be honest. The image i used did not contain the hands so i had to draw in my own. I did a lot of research beforehand though, like way they look and colour. and you couldn't begin to imagine the amount of colour strokes used on the back of the orang-utans. Took almost half an hour to do every 5x5 area of back hair. and thanx for the artist I'll check him out.
