Okay, so one of my biggest hopes for Kingdom Hearts 3 is Frozen showing up in the game! I feel like Riku and Elsa's characters would connect so well because they both have a lot in common. Their fear of their powers (Riku's darkness, Elsa's snow/ice abilities), their drive to be alone and do everything on their own for fear of others finding out or seeing what's really inside, their vulnerability, etc... Riku has been there and done that, and I feel like he would be a positive force for Elsa, to show her that it's okay and that there's nothing to fear. I feel like Elsa's fear and abilities could be a part of the darkness in her heart when her powers spiral out of control and Riku could help her grow to learn and understand that it's not bad and it can be controlled. So, that's why I drew this! Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it! I had a lot of fun drawing it!

This! This is something I hope we see in Kingdom Hearts 3. With Elsa being afraid of her ice power and Riku understanding what that's like, I want to see Riku helping Elsa, trying to talk to her about it. Riku always struck me as the type to do that kind of thing if he ran across someone who used to be like him. To help them overcome their own fears and become better for it. If Riku does this, then Elsa could understand that her powers aren't bad and she can learn to control them. Also I can see Riku protecting Elsa from the guards that came to try and kill her part way through the movie, but that's another thing.

yeah hope so this has the KH3 world written all over it, and it also has a possible story inside KH happening after elsa freazes the homeland out of fear for her powers.
i can imagine anna asking sora to help her find her sister, and then malfecent perhaps controlling elsa's fear to attack the party when they first meet.

Riku isn't an ice master lol. It's a Kingdom Hearts drawing. He's just trying to comfort her in the drawing. I don't have them as a pairing.

Have to say: this really made my day better! Not only is this picture beautiful and well drawn, but also the text you wrote. Even though judging from your way of writing you'd prefer them just as friends, while I think they could theoretically also make a great couple, that really doesn't matter to me. The most important thing here is that you've seen the same thing as me: Riku if someone could really feel Elsa's pain and become really close to her. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that these two will meet someday.

Thank you! Ah, yeah, I do... I don't feel these two would be a fitting couple at all, truth be told. Riku needs his own girl, not a Disney girl. It's just not fitting to me. I don't think KH characters and Disney characters being couples makes any sense at all. Even theoretically. If you do, that's okay. I just don't. But yes, I believe Riku and Elsa could become GOOD friends due to the fact that they've both been through the fears of themselves, etc... Much like how Riku was so comforting to Quasimodo in Dream Drop Distance. One of his lines that stands out the most to me is "Trust me. Looks can be deceiving. A good friend will see you for who you are." And Riku would know that, considering he was in Ansem: SoD's form and his two best friends found him and saw him looking at them, but they knew he was Riku, despite how he looked and they loved him and accepted him still. I just think Riku would connect with Elsa in the Sora has connected with Disney characters in the past because of his mutual understanding of her fear.

Very true. But the thing you said about KH-characters and Disney characters: This is just my opinion, but I consider Sora, Riku and the others as partial Disney characters. They've never been seen in something non Disney-related, and someone has considered them being enough Disney characters to give them pages in DisneyWiki. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Sora and the others making an appearance in Disneyland somehow, or Disney giving them roles in one of their movies. But still, it's a gray area, and a big part depends on people's personal way to look at things.

Wait... never been in something not Disney? lol That's not even remotely true. What do you think Destiny Islands, Hallow Bastion/Radient Garden, The End of the World, The World that Never Was, Castle Oblivion, Traverse Town, etc... is? They're Square Enix characters, and those are Square Enix worlds. This is a Square Enix game, not a Disney game. Disney has given permission for them to mesh, but Riku, Sora, Kairi and those original characters all belong to SE, not Disney. Disney belongs to Disney. That's not just a way of looking at it, but how it actually is.
I'll check it out, but I am really not interested in them being a couple...

I see Destiny Islands and the others just being parts of Kingdom Hearts franchise. And since a big part of the contents in the games is Disney, I can't see how Hollow Bastion and such would rule them out. You're right, Kingdom Hearts isn't Disney game, but it is still very strongly Disney related. SE using Sora, Riku, Kairi and the others independently in some other than KH-games would be something that would rule them out. And I'm not saying that they're 100% solid Disney-characters. Like a said, gray area.

There are actually talks of Sora being Super Smash Brothers... Just sayin'. I don't see them as Disney characters. They don't come across to me as Disney characters. To me, they are KH/SE characters just like the FF characters are FF characters, not KH characters, just with a different story, even though the FF characters' stories in their own respective games aren't canon to the KH franchise, to me those are just cameos. Yes, Disney plays a huge role in this game, I never said it didn't, but this game is a crossover between SE and Disney, ergo Riku, Sora, Kairi, Namine, Xion, Roxas, Axel, etc...

I get what you're saying. But I said "They've never been seen in something non Disney-related". And even though Destiny Islands, Radiant Garden etc. are not worlds based on Disney movies, they're still part of the game that's very strongly Disney-related. Leon, Auron, Cloud and such are FF characters, cause that's the game where they've made their first appearance. Donald, Mickey, Simba, Aladdin and such are Disney characters since they made their appearance in Disney movies/short films. But Sora and the others haven't made appearance outside Kingdom Hearts, so in my eyes they're somewhere in between. SSB is something that doesn't really change anything for me, since that's another crossover game that isn't either a part of characters canon story and doesn't affect on their origin. My last words about the subject would be that in an anime meeting in my country I bought a figure of Lea. It had the logos of Kingdom Hearts and Square Enix on the package, but there was also the text "Disney". Anyway, I think we have both made our points clear, and it's kinda refreshing to have a little debate with someone smart for a change. But I think we shouldn't take a risk about turning a conversation about matters of form into a fight.
So what if we change a subject? You can also say if I'm starting to disturb or something like that. Anyway:
1. What other worlds/events would you like to see in Kingdom Hearts 3?
2. What your opinion about the compatibility between Riku and Elsa would be IF Riku would be a solid Disney character?

1. I would like to see Tangled, Sword and the Stone, Fox and the Hound, The Jungle Book, and Toy Story. That'd be incredibly awesome.

1. Tangled, The Jungle Book and Toy Story are something that I would also want to see. Sword and the Stone isn't my favorite option, but I see how that would work. Fox and the Hound: Well, I don't know... It would be little conflicting to have a world where we have both talking animals AND humans. Same goes for Bolt, 101 Dalmatians and Oliver and the Company etc. With Cinderella that wasn't an issue, because there the humans and animals were able to communicate. Anyway, my other favorites would be Treasure Planet, Brave and Wreck-It Ralph.
2. That was kinda changing the subject. Originally we were talking about that are Sora and the others Disney characters, right? But ok, you think Riku and Elsa wouldn't work anyway.

Obviously, there's still the wait for conformation as to whether there will be a Frozen world in KH3, but if there is, this is a perfect portrayal of how it could... nay... SHOULD play out. I can actually picture it, Riku on the verge of calming Elsa down, only for a mob of Heartless to jump in and ruin everything.
Really like your analysis, very well thought out and makes me hope more that Frozen will be a part of KH3 (don't get me wrong, I like the idea of it being in the game I just wasn't sure if they'd be able to do it pratically as KH3 was already in development before Frozen was released; at least that's my understanding).
As for technique: glorious would be an major understatement.

Just because KH3 was in development before Frozen, does not mean that it's too late to implement it at all. They're constantly moving things around and changing things up, so I don't see why it would be out of the realm of possibility for Frozen to be in KH3, especially since one of the producers of KH3 himself said he wants to see Frozen in the game.
