Wow! This was a lot of fun to work with! I had a blast making Kikyou's shinidamachuu! I actually just painted those instead of making full lineart out of them. I thought it'd make them look neater
Anyway, this is the scene from Chapter 465 in the Inuyasha manga titled Light. To give you a basic idea, here's the dialogue from that chapter~~~~
Kikyou: This is the first time I've seen it. Inuyasha...I've never seen you make such a face and cry like that
Inuyasha: Kikyou, I...I WASN'T ABLE TO SAVE YOU!
Kikyou: You came for me...and that's good enough
Inuyasha: Kikyou...

It's so sad. That chapter made me cry so much. Anyway, I'm going to ask right now before anybody gets worked up to please not flame me for drawing this picture. I understand there are people out there who ship the InuyashaxKagome (me being one of them!) and don't like Kikyou and vice versa. I'm going to ask you now to please not say anything negative towards either woman as I like and respect them both. I did too... I cried in the manga when it happened, in the Japanese episode when it happened and in the English version as well. That scene is utterly heartbreaking. Even though I ship Inuyasha and Kagome together hardcore, Kikyo is still my favorite character, so not only was I sad she died, but at the same time it was liberating because she was finally being set free. Her soul was saved, and that alone is powerful enough to move you after all the heartache and tragedy she has suffered. And yes, seeing Inuyasha cry definitely tugged at the heartstrings.

TT-TT I wanted to start crying when I read this scene. I'm an InuKag shipper, but I don't hate Kikyou like I used to. I guess the Tragic Love Song of Destiny episodes changed my mind and made me respect her a little more.
In the anime during the flashback on Inuyasha and Kikyou's story, as soon as she said Beloved was a good trigger word for the subjagation beads, I was like, Oh crap, she's screwed.

Ah, she had to. It was inevitable. She didn't really die actually. I mean she was already dead.
It's just had body couldn't handle anymore. The clay and bones had been beyond tainted, she it
was best for her. She was suffering being in that body, being forced to live. Kikyou's at peace
now, just remind yourself of that. ^_~

Yeah, they left the anime hanging...so you really don't know what happened to Kikyou...do you? o_o Anyway, the manga is complete. You should go read it.
Also, they do plan on continuing the anime from where it left off as well.

so pretty!! i love this chapter it's so sad though inuyasha has never loved anyone as much as kikyo he cried so much. can't really blame him she's like the first love not mention she's the only one who loved with all his heart.
i cried when she died.
kikyo is always amazing character. naraku died in the manga too he deserve it for what he did too kikyo and inuyasha. he broke the original couple of the show.

Yeah ^^ well, ummm Inuyasha does love someone as much he loved Kikyou and that's Kagome. It's more than obvious in the manga and considering the last chapter comes out this week and last week's previous chapter...well I think it's safe to say so. Kikyou actually didn't love Inuyasha as much as he loved her. I have the Inuyasha Manga Profiles written by Takahashi herself and it said that Kikyou harboured feelings for Inuyasha that could not yet be called love. Yes, he was the first woman he loved, but that's the keyword 'first'. There's always a first love, but that doesn't mean that first love is your one and only true love.
Also, Kikyou and Inuyasha weren't the original, intended couple. Kagome and Inuyasha are. That much is obvious.
