Wow this took me two days to complete and I have finally completed it! I tried a whole new coloring style with this one. No lineart, no sketch, just straight up realistic/KH-ish style coloring with a touch of my own flair. This drawing was very challenging and I almost couldn't stop long enough to go to bed last night! LOL! So yeah... I'm a bit worried about how people are gonna look at this, but I'm on a Riku kick and I really love drawing him. ♥ I hope you guys enjoy it as much as my other stuff! Let me know what you think of the new coloring style I used. I'm gonna try more with it, because I need more practice. Also, I titled the picture after the name of his Keyblade. I felt it was deserving since our Riku is now a fully marked Keyblade Master!

Also you wanna know what I think they should shine a light on? How he got that keyblade in the game.
I mean some say he crafts it, others say it morphs from soul eater (Which i kinda am leaning towards) But it's a mystery. I mean cant they do an epi where Riku recollects when Kingdom Hearts decides he's worthy to use a keyblade again and poof, there's way to dawn?
I mean a keyblade like that deserves a story behind it!
It kicks the asses of all Sora's keyblades IMO Sorry xD
Cuz it's a reflection of Riku's soul, an eternal dance of light and dark in beautiful harmony.

Yes! I wanted to try something new instead of just coloring sketches and while this does take a lot longer to achieve, I was quite proud of it's turnout. The weapon he is holding is something known as a "keyblade" in the series and it's the same name as the title of the drawing, Way to the Dawn. It's Riku's signature keyblade. Ah yes. The lighting actually holds significance in this piece. If you notice below around his legs, there is darkness, but the light is coming through and pushing away the darkness, lighting a path for Riku. In other words, the light is showing him the way.

When I looked at this I literally said out loud "This... is really... freaking... well done." And I mean it! You have good use of light and dark, and the textures used in Riku make him appear almost like a game model upon first glance. Have you tried playing with lighting on him to accentuate the light and dark of the background?
