Artist's Notes: The Thunderbird is both a figure in Native American mythology but also a name given to unconfirmed giant bird sightings across the US. Some sightings describe it as a giant vulture or condor while others make it out to be a surviving pterosaur so I tried to combine features of both in this drawing to questionable effect. This cryptid is very special to me as it is the only one that I have had a sighting of myself. Most likely I saw a turkey vulture or possibly a condor that flew too close to me but it's still an encounter I won't soon forget.
