Even when there is snow and ice on the ground...one is still able to find mushrooms popping out of the ground or on trees even!There are several including this one that I've been blessed iwth this winter, called a Honey Mushroom...an edible I've yet to try (only find 1 or 2 at a time). It has a beautiful pale white spore print but interestingly will have a green-tinged ring around it's stem!

people always say to me 'i thought the musrooms were only out in spring'....i collect some of the best edibles in the winter...and because of that ice? it lasts longer while i hike for more.
