Description
Not a caterpillar...but a larva of the Elm Sawfly. This variety is North America's largest....with a gorgeous blue stripe running down the back with small matching blue dots along both sides of it's body. The adult will be a blackish/purple creature, often mistaken as wasps or even bees.
Although I'm not a sawfly fan, these larva are just amazing in their specteral beauty.
This one is curled up on the underside of a Hexigonal-pored Polypore fungus.

these are actually VERY gentle creatures...even in the adult stage they're out for food...not human destruction.

Awwe! This is so adorable.. It's just sad that it'll end up being a not-so-good looking creature later on in life.

Aww I think larvae and catterpillars and such are so cute... much nicer than their fly-forms (which scare the bejeebuz out of me OTL.)
This little guy looks all curled up and adorable, just a little baby~~ it is a really gorgeous shot on a creature not many people have seen the beauty in before. Thank you for making this, and congrats on the DD!!

I think I'm the only one in the entire world who likes watermarks. XD
I don't know, I think it gives it more of a finished look. Not to mention how useful they are.
I support artists who watermark!
Anyway, this is an absolutely amazing shot. It's so cute! O_o
