Description
One of North America's giant millipedes...I found this gorgeous creature curled up under an old trashed bookbag in the woods.
Usually I won't bother them as they secrete a toxin that can cause major irritation to my skin...so I just took it's photo an left it there.
These things are fairly harmless unless provoked...they eat vegitation and are often found in gardens and forests.
This fellow stretched full out was about 3 inches.

Oh no! I thought it was a seashell even at full view because the dA watermark ruined the shot. It was only after I read the caption that I could see what it was.
ooooh make your own watermark -- that way people will remember YOU and not some dA commercial. AND they can see your great work.
Look at the work of Nate Zeman -- he's a professional landscape photographer. His work is absolutely awesome -- and he uses his name in a classy font in a subtle way that protects his work while showing it off:

I think 90% of my images have the watermark...dA changes things so often and my computer and FireFox just cant' move fast enuf to keep up with it all.

watermarks REALLY suck but so do people who steal my work. i had this up earlier and had it 'nabbed'...found it on other sites and had to send complaints all over the globe to get those down.
just realllly sick of sites that allow art theft and their nonchallant attitude when it's proven.

I can deal with so many types of insects and spiders and creatures... but the millipede and centipede are the only things that make me cringe! An unnecessary amount of legs!! lol
