THE ENIGMA SERIES: PART SEVEN*May contain spoilers.*

*I decided to put the Enigma Character Series together mostly for the same reason I’ve put the other ones together, to save time and space. I have these pieces posted individually in my Original Character Designs folder, but I will be scrapping them shortly.*
#1- This is Age of Apocalypse Enigma, who is very different from her mainstream counterpart. There isn’t much I can say about this version of her character without giving away a bunch of major secrets, so I’ll just say that this Enigma is NOT one of the good guys, she’s totally badass, not quite right in the head, has undergone some genetic manipulation, and at one point cuts a man’s ear off in a nightclub. I’m absolutely dying to write these stories.
#2- This is also Age of Apocalypse Enigma, with her evil cloak.
#3- This is Ultimate Enigma, whose backstory I have only about halfway worked out. Prior to joining the X-Men, Wolverine finds her being held captive by a religious fanatic in Ireland who thinks she is possessed by the devil. He helps free her on a whim, and after she kills her captor she follows after Wolverine, though he initially tries to leave her behind. Eventually she becomes his partner and two occasionally sleep together. She stays in Magneto’s Savage Land base when Wolverine goes on his mission to kill Xavier, but when she realizes he isn’t coming back, she goes to the mansion to find him and winds up joining the team herself. Ultimate Enigma is in her late teens and is originally darker and more unstable than her mainstream counterpart, and is kind of loose, too. You know what I mean. While she still has her magic-based mutant powers, she has little control and has mostly repressed them, usually focusing them through her sword when fighting. Did I mention she has a sword? Swords are cool. Anyway. When she uses her powers, her eyes turn completely black, too. That’s about as far as I’ve gotten with that. I really like Ultimate Enigma’s design, though I suppose she’ll eventually end up with a second costume.
#4- Along with my other X-Men fanfic series, I also have the one I call X-Chronicles, where I add Enigma to the X-Men timeline right at the beginning, making her a member of the original team just prior to Jean. The basic premise is that she appeared on the school grounds with amnesia, knowing nothing about herself or her past. She takes the name Mickey after an engraving on a bracelet she is found with, and Xavier gives her the codename Enigma, for obvious reasons. X-Chronicles takes place in present day, and adapts not only the original X-Men comics, but also PROFESSOR XAVIER & THE X-MEN, X-MEN FIRST CLASS, and X-MEN THE HIDDEN YEARS. I don’t like the other versions I did for this series, and I’ll be redoing them next time I do a character series, but here is a newer one I did with the uniform from FIRST CLASS, which I really like.
That’s all of the series for now. There should be more in the future, but who knows when that will be.
