Done in PS7(A picture may be a worth a thousand words, even when they are false. Its easy to borrow a shotgun and gear and take the camera's afield. But true sportsmen know that being apart of our hunting heritage means more than posing for a picture. It means having respect for our rights, traditions, and freedoms)

I must say, assault rifles are made to kill people. That's why they have "assault" right there in the name. The 2nd amendment was created for a militia (so that we can rebel if the government becomes a dictatorship), but at this point it's mostly obsolete in those terms... thus, it's now mostly for hunters. You really didn't answer the question about handguns above, so I must ask: do you really think they have a purpose other than an anti-human weapon? Of course, it's the user & not the weapon that does the damage - but since you agree with that statement, wouldn't you be for controls that make it harder for criminals and psychotics to aquire weapons?

Yes but "criminals" of felons can't buy guns of any type from stores. I had an AR-15 assult rifle and I didn't want to kill anybody, actually I thought you could hunt with it but i found out I got the wrong caliber and that I could not hunt with it. But I actually competed with it at the local gun club, it was a great gun! and actual the name of mine was bushmaster XM23-15 but people call it AR-15 or Assault rifle. Not to mention the guns kids use in shooting aren't the high priced assault rifles anyways. its shotguns or your dads hunting rifle or a cheap SKS/AK-47

Oh, of course the high school shooters don't have assault weapons. I don't think any of us (safety freaks) would suggest that. And hey, anyone can buy anything if we can 'prove' he's allowed to. That's why we need stricter and more detailed controls: to make sure we know anyone buying a gun is mentally stable and trained. I like the training program idea, it probably prevents a few crimes of passion every year. If a restriction saves one life and prevents a hundred gun collectors from buying a cool piece, isn't it worth it?

Yeah maybe we need to do something but a gun ban is not the answer. not to mention the gun ban didn't really do all that much to begin with. It just made it to where the AR that you bought after 1994 were more exspensive because there was supposed to be less made which wasn't the case. I read an article about it today actually its pretty funny what the gun ban actaully did. Its already a FEDERAL LAW not have an AUTOMATIC rifle which of course that is an AR. Now a days you can label any gun and Assault gun, you know.

He is one of the top supporters of the organization called Hangun control Inc. I asked a Democratic Friend of mind who is a BIG hunter and gun supporter and he was saying that Kerrys wife is the main reason he is a supporter but none the less Kerry still is supporting gun bans! thats all

and well when i was in the states [1999-2001] i never noticed a a gun ban was there one becous my friend mick was abel to buy a revolver and he was only on a two week vacation visiting me.

Ok the gun ban was on assult rifles. The ban was to ban people from purchasing automatic assult rifles and in some states like California your not even allowed to own an assult rifle semi or full auto. Also you could not put folding stocks on you AR's unless you had a previous pre-ban Rifle and I think there was a ban on Clip size. The whole point of the ban was that they didn't think that sort of stuff was needed. Why does a hunter or civilian need a gun like this?? Of course with a auto rifle and a folding stock you can sneak it into a school and have a mass murder but I don't think becuase of a couple bad apples that we should all be punished. The gun didn't kill the people, the person behind it did, not to mention the route of getting an AR is long. Either you dad has one or you will need to spend 700.00 to 2000.00 to buy one. I bought one back 3 years ago for 750.00 from a gun shop. great gun I participated in AR competitions at our local gun club.
The thought is since Kerry is an advocit for the Gun bans that why should he stop at just the un-needed ARs and go for the un-needed pistols like a 45 or 50cal. or any .223 rifles and such. just something to ponder
