When ever I’m on my side my cat will perch himself on my hip. I swear I’m going to have bad hips from my cat being on them

is that you Savu or Loki. soz just really can't tell.
ugh, I know how that feels. I'm not asleep right now (or trying to) but my cat Bella (LOVE HER) was just hogging my key board. she just moved now but ahg, irritated. its nearly impossible to type when she dose, either she leans on the keys or mouse pad and sh*t appears allover the screen, or, she blokes my view to everything. ok Bella, you fuzzy but is cute and all but it is not what I want to be seeing every time I'm on my laptop.

well... sadly mine doesn't like to sleep IN bed but enjoys sleeping below it.
Today he even skipped sleeping in the basin and annoying dad doing so just to be let into my room and sleep under the bed.
Usually he jumps into the basin and pretends to sleep there for hours though you just brushed him on the floor two seconds ago xD
anyway in that case I miss Panthro, the cat of my cousin, who slept with me in bed every night. Was wonderfully warm. ^.^

I had a basement room and my cat Tigger, would wake me up at midnight to get me to let him in my room so he could sleep with me. Until three in the morning, then he would meow until I let him out my window, which was ground level. This went on for three years until he died at eleven years. After that, my other cat Sid, has started the same trend.

My mom's kitten used to sleep on my throat when I was there. I tried to push him away many times, but he would keep coming back until I decided air wasn't that important anyway.

true story. when i adopted my cat Morgan back in 2005 she was a total sweetheart, but when you're asleep she'd attack your hand and play with it if you have it under the covers. to her moving fingers under a bedsheet is a toy >>
then once i kicked her off accidentally in the middle of a nightmare...she hadn't been in bed with me since and slept on it when i'm not there

oh goodness, Trying to sleep with cats is hard, especially when they're kittens, jumping everywhere o.o
My grandmother had a cat, who had some kind of condition, where he wouldn't stop sneezing, but he LOVED to sleep either on your pillow, or next to your head, but he couldn't, otherwise you would wake up with cat snot on your face.

Maybe he had cat allergies.
no seriously maybe he did. my mum told me of a cat my aunty used to have called Merlin. Merlin did have cat allergies, because he was so in bread.
a stupid breeder had bread him so badly that he had: cat allergies, cleft pallet (what ever that means), his immune system was so bad it might as well not have existed and he was thick, so thick that he couldn't be toilet trained.
so yeah Merlin sensed a lot to.

aunty Jo took good care of him and he was happy living with her, even if he couldn't stop sneezing.
(typo, "so yeah Merlin sensed a lot to." should be "so yeah Merlin sneezed a lot to." soz)

That's been true with every cat I've had over my life.
I can remember the names of about 10 of them ... think there was more XD
Most were the generic "I want to cuddle" and curl up anywhere next to you.
But some, certainly showed their personalities were different.
I remember one that would wait until I got settled, then would jump up and sleep on my back.
Another one would mew until I held up the blankets so he could crawl under, turn around and stick only his head out!
A set of 2 brothers would sleep on small pillows that would be on each side of my head.
Tyche, my current cat-companion, will wait a minute for me to get comfortable then curl up between the arm and my side. Sometimes she wants to go under the covers then put her head in my hand and sleep that way.

my old cat also put her head in my hand to sleep....beside that she put her tail on my head as well (which was kind of annoying)

Still better than a "Garfield move" - sleeping right on the face XD
While none of my cats ever did that, the one that would sleep on my back sometimes would move higher and on the shoulder blades to nearly be on the neck
But the most annoying habit of cats when I sleep was the last set of cats, (again brothers from same litter). I'd be sleeping and they decide to chase each other ... and use my stomach as a springboard. ... oh and the biggest one weighed 25 lbs, and no that wasn't fat. He was big! From his hind legs to his front paws stretched out enough to cover 3 ft (yes this cat was often called a dog...or a cow lol!). When he jumped on me (did I mention it was usually the stomach?), there was no staying asleep!

there are two cats in this house and they do fight.
before the second one came there was just Bella, oh I love her and she would sleep on my bed at night. then Tom came, oh god Tom came!
he is a damn big cat but not as big as yours (*gasp* yours is huge) but he's still pretty big. if I don't shut the door at night they will come in and fight, or most likely he will come in and fight (I think Bella is just sick of him, poor girl) but if I just shut her in all night that wouldn't be fare. so now I haft to shut both out.

How old is Tom? esp compared to Bella. Is both been neutered/spayed?
I was once told that when brining in a new cat, its best if they are:
1-opposite gender so there is less dominance issue that is there with same genders.
2- Best if new member is younger than the first cat, kitten if you had a choice. Seems the older cat is more tolerant of the kitten/adolescent than another adult - again a dominance issue.
OF course those don't solve all issues ... we are talking about cats
And yes, Alacer was huge! his legs were so long that if he stood on the desk in front of me and the comp screen, he would block it completely...that's what lead to some friends calling him a horse or cow Ironcially, he wasn't a very dominate cat, he was very laid back. He rarely fought with his brother, when they chased each other, it was play.

Tom is two years old. Yes both are spayed.
they are opposite gender and Tom is younger. (Bella nine years old)
Tom was one when we got him and tiny but one year later he is massive, and just as stupid.
