I draw too many ponies these days. I wanted the size difference to be bigger, but... uh... meh. Art is hard.Not meant to be shipping but I guess everyone is free to interpret this however they like.

Feather-tailed pegasi and alicorns, great idea. Love real unicorn and work-horse for unicorn and earth pony.

Oh my gosh, I love this!!!!! I love how AJ is traditional horse, almost like a draft horse. You can see her strength in this picture without even doing any strength activities (just don't crush Twily, AJ lol). And I really love how her mane and tail are horse-like while Twily is original unicorn. She definitely looks more graceful than AJ. Her tail seems a little feather, though, than lion-like (the original unicorns had a lion tail from what I recall). She does seem more aerodynamic this way, though.
Have you considered trying to tackle drawing Rarity in traditional unicorn style (I admit, I've only looked at the first two images in your gallery so far so I'm not sure if you've tried it yet, but I'm making my way down the line)? I'm not sure how her tail would look. It's so beautiful now. i would be very interested in seeing your interpretation, though! Keep it up! I can see you're trying to find your own style and I think it's wonderful

The feathery tail is just laziness on my part, I still need some practice drawing those tails. It didn't come out that great here.

this makes sense, i mean because aj is an earth pony and she uses her body a lot more than twilight does , she'd most likely have a bigger body than a unicorn

I only have a couple of caveats: One, you forgot AJ's freckles, and Twilight's tail is a bit off.
