Description While this review was really irritating to sit through, the last few minutes offended me:

"People like to laugh, to think, and even be scared, but no one anywhere likes to be disgusted!"

Who gives you the right to say what people actually enjoy? There's a reason why Drawn Together had an audience. I understand why some people would dislike "Drawn Together". It's a show that's not for everyone. However, its raunchy theme is SUBJECTIVE, meaning while some people will be disgusted, others will find the humor to be amusing. You can say those people have bad taste if you want, but Drawn Together is a comedy show, no matter how you think it works for yourself.

"There are rules to comedy, and if you fail at reaching then, then your comedy will fail!"

NO. There are no rules to comedy. Even the simplest things can make someone laugh. Once again, comedy is subjective. What may not work for you, can work for others. No one thinks the same way.

I... I lost respect for this individual. People, enjoy what you want. I understand that there will be people who won't like something, but there's no rule book that says a cartoon CAN'T be raunchy just for the sake of being edgy.

Oh, and by the way, her name is "Toot", not "toots". It's called simple researching on Wikipedia.

EDIT: Wow, this definitely became a controversial deviation. Just to let you know, even after what I say here, I don't hate him as a person, and I never will. I just found this review to have plenty of flaws. I did agree with him on the animation though. If you still enjoy his content and agree with the review, that's fine! We all have different tastes, that was the point of making this whole thing.

No one can exactly predict what he actually says in a video before watching it though. And I don't spite people who share a similar opinion with him. Some people commented that they like his review, and they told me why. I said that's fine.

I just want people to be aware that everyone has a different tastes of media. If people like humor that's "stupid and fun", what's wrong with that? That's all I'm saying here. You have tastes, I have tastes. We're going to disagree with certain things. But despite all of that, I hope that doesn't me we can't be friends because of all this.

Like I said in another pic.

If you are dividing humor by thinking which is smart and which is stupid instead of basically knowing the actual nonsubjective categories of black, gallows, and other styles of humor... you are all bunch of idiots who tries to look like you are a smart cartoon watcher when you are just a lousy hipster.

to be honest, I don't really think I ever liked Mr. Enter. He takes everything WAY too personal and, while he does raise some good points on some things, sometimes he tends to be a little... OVER angry on most of his reviews. And really, I'm not gonna follow HIS advice on comedy until he does something funny to back it up

Thsi is my opinon on the show's comedy itself (I'm not going by the film's choices as I didn't like the movie LONG before this review even came out):

- THe satire was usually kidna clever, especially witht he characters they used. Toot was meant to be a parody of a has-been actress who happened to be a former sex symbol, so that was funny to see how etached she was. Wtih Clara, as much as I don't like her character, was meant to be a Disney princess parody and thus make fun of their tropes (the Anti-setimism thing...that wasn't funny with me but eh, I'm still kinda iffy wtih jokes about anything involving WWII because of personal taste), Ling-Ling and Captain Hero I felt were ESPECIALLY funny as a fan of both Pokemon and the DCAU.
- They didn't use TOO MUCH gore. When they did, I did kinda look away due to senstive stomach issues (I don't like the sight of blood in real life, so seeing it in a cartoon isn't gonna help me much ;. but the sex jokes? Ehh...I found that some were humorous, some were just eyebrow raising so nothing TOO bad there.
- Sometimes went to far in some cases, but they knew their limits and went accordingly. While comedy can be used to shock people (look at Duckman for that), there are times that the show itself knew it couldn't do some things. Thus they only went all out on the DVD releases, as if they went all out on TV, it'd be knocked out of the air faster than a fastball in Yankee Statium.
- And my final point wtih this show, it knew what it was taking about. In the movie, not so much. But the show? They usually had clever humor when it came to nt just making a show about jerkish parodies of famous characters, they cOULD at least be decent people depending on the episode (OK, mostly Foxy or Xander, but still but Clara does get soem good moments I'll admit). SO at least I coul find some characters I did like.

Again, my opinions of the show I am not a fan of the film, so this is just my thoughts on the characters as a guy who enjoyed the first and half-of-the-second seasons.

Yeah, I thought the "rules of comedy" thing was bullshit. There are no rules of comedy, Lenny Bruce threw the rulebook into the incinerator 50 years ago and almost every comedian since then has taken influence from him.

As for Drawn Together, I don't care for its humour or the show in general, but I can see why people like it. It ramps the raunchiness level up to eleven in each episode. As you said, comedy is subjective and that's something Enter apparently doesn't understand.

I've heard of Drawn Together but not Mr. Enter, and it's probably best if I don't know about him.

TrainsAndCartoons In reply to ??? [2015-10-28 01:50:43 +0000 UTC]

Oh, man.  Now I don't even know if I like or hate Mr. Enter, anymore.  I just wish I could decide (and yes, I'm aware that a lot of people are going to tell me to hate the guy).  But in all due honesty, I still like his review of "Arthur's Big Hit", because as I've once said before, I've hated that episode to begin with.

Thinking about it, now, though, I do wish Mr. Enter would take this a little less seriously (and this is coming from someone who also doesn't like excuses like "it's just a cartoon" or "it's for kids" when something's not well-written or well-executed).

DnMStarsi In reply to TrainsAndCartoons [2015-10-28 04:55:00 +0000 UTC]

Personally. I gave up after his 100th. It's not really entertaining. Nostalgia Critic did say to let people who are so serious to stuff like cartoons and let them be passionate while offering your opinion instead of shoving it to them. He wants to be so Damn serious about stuff like this, Fine. But i or someone like me will offer their two cents on it like him believing that comedy has rules and he knows what we want is untrue.

That's fine if you like the "Arthur's Big Hit" review. Even after what I said, there are some reviews that I did agree with for the most part. But really, you're free to still like him.

TrainsAndCartoons In reply to SB99stuff [2015-10-28 01:57:02 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.  But I'm really not sure if I like Mr. Enter so much anymore.  Just some of his earlier reviews.  Also, there are some haters of the Nostalgia Critic who think he's too harsh on the movies he reviews (even if they know Doug's only playing a character).

SB99stuff In reply to TrainsAndCartoons [2015-10-28 02:05:41 +0000 UTC]

Understood, and it's a good thing you brought up NC, because that's another issue I have with Enter. At least with Nostalgia Critic, I know he's hamming up his performance and exaggerating his points to make things humorous (and to some, he can still seem harsh, that's understandable). With Enter, I just don't see that. It seems he's serious with everything he says.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

DnMStarsi In reply to SB99stuff [2015-10-28 04:49:41 +0000 UTC]

I agree. I know Doug's character is mainly telling jokes and while there are times where his reviews or him being harsh or unfunny, it's overall exaggeration. With Enter, he sounds monotone all the time so it's hard to differentiate real and exaggerated opinion and for his character, it's hard to tell when he's being serious and when he's not.

True.

Now, if I ever do video reviews, I might occasionally get angry, but other times, be more analytical on things.

I might do my own review of "Arthur's Big Hit" at some point in future (not in the near future; I really need to learn how to make video reviews).

I loved drawn together when it came on TV  and how it made fun of all of the cartoon genres people grew up with watching as kid.and and yes it was disgusting and ad alot of raunchy moments in the movie so did the TV show itself had them but that was the point but he did make few good points about the movie and i fell the creators should just left the show on 3 seasons and just leave it at that

He reviewed the movie. as a fan of the show's first season, I didn't even like the movie either in all honesty ;;; It over did it with what was OK humor in the show itself ;;; It took the humor that Drawn Together did good on and pushed it WAY over board in my opinion ;;;

ANd so it's known, I DID see the first season ;; I wasn't a fan of the gorey parts I'll admit, but it did have some clever jokes in it and I did like some of the jabs it did.

Wasn't a fan of the show back in the day, but I've grown a bit more in what I find funny. And even back then I still remember laughing at certain episodes before it became "too much". However I think baring a few things, I think if I were to watch it again I'd have more things to laugh at. XD

I wouldn't take this too seriously man. However...odd, his belief is, it's his. I just don't want people to parrot that belief without coming up with their own first.

And that's what I don't want either. As much as the review got me angry, I do realize that it's his belief. A flawed one definitely, but still his. I'm glad we have our own thoughts and opinions.

I'm cool with people having their own beliefs/opinions. Long as it's not racist/hateful or the like. Cause there's no excuse for that.

But yeah, that's a thing some of the reviewers I follow like to remind fans (like Linkara and NC) the reviews ultimately come from a biased view-point THEIRS and they are NOT the absolute arbiter of what you should or should not enjoy. They make it clear when they're being objective and when they're making things a personal point.
