This is a very exact 3d model of my bedroom. It's inside a cardboard box, as this is often how I feel when in here working for hours as a time. This has probably been one of my biggest 3d projects to date. It took 4 or 5 days to get this far, and probably about 50 hours of rendering. Previous betas and such can be found in my gallery. I'm very proud of this piece and would appreciate comments and feedback more than you can imagine.

Model produced in 3d Studio Max 4. Rendered with Brazil. 109,000 polys. 192 polys per thumbtack. Each render took between 6 and 8 hours.



Edit: Moved out of Unsorted section, not too sure about new location, doesn't seem to fit perfectly anywhere.

amazing work. for the longest time i didnt believe that it was digitally created because it just looks too real. I really like the whole concept. I think I might get the print in the near future. good job!

a good, well empathised idea that is often found sprouting up in my own poetry..

though i will be the first to admit this is a far more effective, visual way to get your idea across.

I was going to suggest texturing would be nice. But thinking about it I think it looks better without them. Gives it a very bleak - faded kinda look to it.

I don't think it needs to be textured or colored or anything. I think the pure, greyish clay look makes it more prison- or cell-like, and making it vibrant with colors would make it more hypocritical (meaning it isn't so boring and dull as a box, it's also vibrant and detailed). And texturing would to me make it seem as though it were real, and not actually held in a box. The box is just too big to contain on the screen, and it would definitely lose something.
