You did a good job to capture the look of Beagle`s unicorn. Not a horse-with-horn-ripoof. Very well done!

This is really pretty. If you can sculpt unicorns that well from nothing, I don't understand why you use so many breyers! This one is so much more unique

Well, the CM Breyers sell better. People are MUCH more willing to pay $150 or so for a piece than over a thousand. I don't work cheap, and considering that she is a Traditional sized (was, she is more or less deceased now being broken) there is no way to actually get what I consider her to be worth. The labor and time involved with sculpting an original that large makes selling it for an amount that reflects the work involved very difficult (believe me, she was in a gallery for over a year along with the rest of my art, all of which was lost in Katrina, she was with me for repairs though so she survived the storm). It is hard to make a go at original sculptures unless you plan to cast, and though she was nice, not nice enough to reproduce. There is also not a large demand for fantasy resins. I may try sculpting from scratch again some day when I am more confident in my abilities and have the time, but for now the CM horses are doing well enough.
Your pieces are lovely too. I like the way you hair them, sometimes people make it too bushy, but yours are very smooth and flowing.

Over $1000? wow. I usually work out how long something took then pay myself $10-$15 an hour, and work out its worth that way. That unicorn must have taken you forever xD
Yeah, casting is a big mess. I tried it with a polymer sculpt and it didn't work out too well, and I still can't figure out how to carve what I want from a big block of wax.
I just think there's something really special about this (now sadly gone) unicorn, and original sculpture in general. Whatever works for the individual though ^^

The fur on the front leg looks a bit odd coming up like that, but I still love it lots. ^-^
