Description
This is my first dA ID and also my first try with a tablet. Tablets are a little harder to use than it lookes. Any suggestions for how to draw better? It seems like my drawing won't get worse, but it won't get better. Oh, and the lose threads are because, they are lose threads. So HAH! Oh, and with critizism, don't say "This sucks." Please say WHY it sucks (if you do think it sucks...).Related content

I had the same thought when I started tablet-ing last year. It's very tempting to just use the pen like a mouse. ~.^
One technique I *kinda* picked up is setting your brush tool to a 50% transparency/opacity and using the pen to make repetitious strokes; in other words, sketchy-style lines. Eventually this builds up a nice smooth, dark line
Erm, don't think it would work very well in anything like MS Paint. Gotta shell out $$ for the heavy duty software (such as Corel Painter). Or you can join an oekaki board (which is free!)
One thing you could fix on your pjs is to add shading on the clouds so they line up with the blue shading. It makes the overall object more believable to the viewer.
The face and anatomy is sort of lop-sided. (If you ask why, you can expect to get a loooooong 6+ paragraph reply from me, just-so-ya-know. X_x) But I do suggest you find some pictures in books or (official) show websites and research offa those.

Anatomy is..... well, it's basically the human body (it can also be animals' bodies, but humans most of the time). It's the process of drawing the body in a way that it looks realistic, or "stylized yet still believable" (hehe, I just made that phrase up - I wonder if it makes sense ). Anatomy can also be broken up into different rules you follow as you're drawing. For example, one common rule to remember is that the neck does NOT start at the dead center of the head. It actually starts from the back of the head, and ends at just slightly past the center.
Again, all you need to do is research- look through drawings and photos in magazines- and you'll start to see how it's done. ^^ (pfeh, now I wish I had followed my own advice and gone to a store that sold guitars for my own researchβ¦) >XΓ
