Hi, I was trying to use this tutorial, but I can't seem to find the additional-layer option... I have Open Canvas 4.5.09 Plus.
Please help me?

This is extremely useful. I'll make sure to remember it when/if I decide to go into graphic work as opposed to just traditional atm. Awesome job, well explained too

This is so helpfull! Thanks
Only one thing, in the first step you say 'I'll create a layer underneath it..'. I really have no idea how! I always cover the whole lineart. Can you help me?
xx

What software are you using?

Scarabus In reply to BeeRtJjUhh [2008-01-12 00:06:21 +0000 UTC]
Layers. It's a basic feature in photoshop. Create a new layer and move it underneath your lineart and set the blending mode of the lineart layer to multiply.
Never ever draw on top of your lines.

Its realitively the same thing in photoshop just instead of using the Water colour tool you'd use the basic softed edge brushes in a bigger size.
For the highlights use the airbrushing tool.

Hey, I love your tutorial! So simple and noncomplex. But (I know I may sound like one of those annoying people that always have something to say xD So, sorry) but compaired to the rest of the body and hair, the coloring on the eyes looks more cartoonish than the rest. Again, sorry, but I thought it might help in the future.
Anway, you are amazing at coloring skin, and make it look very simple, you're also great at writing tuts.! It was really easy to follow along!

Hey, just checked back after all of these months 0_0
So, does that mean that the sceen layer in painter works like addition in open canvas?
👍: 0 ⏩: 0
Scarabus In reply to ZinjaShike [2007-11-24 11:55:56 +0000 UTC]
There's a screen layer mode in open canvas too, but it works differently

ZinjaShike [2007-11-17 06:26:49 +0000 UTC]
Quick question, would the screen layer be the same as the addition layer in Open Canvas?

this is a great tutorial! i was wondering what version of oc you used because i'm using 4.5 and i can't find the addition layer^^' maybe the newer versions don't have it anymore, or maybe i'm just stupid, lol
