Description
Idea is mine, though based on the Tournament of Mortals.While these two may not have much of anything in common, you have to agree they stand out in a crowd.
Mewtwo: Born in a laboratory as the greatest psychic pokemon of all; with creators intending to use you for god knows what nefarious purpose; eventually going on to be a master of cloning technology and battling hundreds of different pokemon in a quest for peace and purpose.
Spawn: Government hitman reborn as Satan's general for Hell's army, then eventually betrayer of Satan, fighting off an army of demons and angels. Life has been very unkind to Al Simmons.
Now, though the hand dealt to them by fate was cruel and strange, these two must do battle. Can Mewtwo handle an opponent with such a terrifyingly twisted mind? Can Spawn beat an opponent who could quite literally snap his bones with a thought? All these questions may one day be answered, as we continue searching for...
THE DEADLIEST MORTAL!
Finally, in a classic 'To the Victor Goes the Spoils', after you pick a winner, pick something for them to take from the loser. It may be something as simple as a piece of equipment, to something as complex as a power. I'm just curious what you all would say.

Spawn I don't read his comics but I do know he BEAT GOD AND SATIN he took reality and through it out the F%*+=β¬! Window! And is only hurt by wepons made in Hevean and feeds of others sins lets see who blew up a lab filled with people. Spawn wins hands down

Sorry to tell you this. This isn't even a fight. Spawn would kill Mewtwo so bad. Spawn would happen to be one of the most powerful Characters ever to be created considering he dethroned God and Satan and rewrote existence.

I think Spawn is a god-mod bitch who the comic company needed to actually get fans I think it's funny that they had to reach god-mod before Superman I mean honestly I think the creator wasn't very creative and jumped to the little kid argument 'nuh uhh I shoted you firsts' so to this fuck Spawn.

the god thing happened near the end of the comics. the comic series is relativly quite good, and started the whole dark story telling trend. it wasn't the first but it got it popular

Mewtwo has better Pre-Battle, Hex Powers and Augments. He takes the Mental, Preparation and Energy Potential X-Factors.
Spawn has better Long, Mid, and Close Range, as well as Defense. He takes the Physical and Psychological X-Factors.
Conclusion: Tie

spawn gets powered up by sins and so far Mewtwo has done genocide, kidnapping, working for criminals murder of a child (he got better) and attempted global domination.

I honestly am perplexed at Mewtwo's power level. Beaten by Aang, but able to hold his own against Spawn and stall against Goku? But honestly, Mewtwo would probably hold his own, but lose eventually. Spawn is just too durable, and Mewtwo's best chance is using his Psionic Blasts (He destroyed an entire research facility, and he was in a state of anger, not battle) and using his Bubble Shield liberally. I think Spawn will win, but Mewtwo will give him scars and a great fight; if he doesn't destroy his sanity in the first place. Spawn's got Inner Torment galore, and a psychic wrecks havoc with those kinds of people. But seriously, I don't really understand Mewtwo's power in these fights.

On the original Tournament, it was decided on favor of Aang because he would be able to overpower Mewtwo in the Avatar State. I disagree, but I can't do anything about it, and the match will be redone soon on a different blog.

Oh come on now, Mewtwo's not at a disadvantage. His powers are all at the speed of thought, and he could keep Spawn away with Telekinesis.
So, why Spawn over Mewtwo?

Powers Spawn has include: Super-strength, teleportation, healing, agility, magic, resurrection of the dead, and TELEPATHY. And he is basically immortal, only able to be killed by holy weapons. Mew-Two is impressive...by Pokemon standards, but Spawn isn't a Pokemon, obviously...

May I remind you though that the pokemon legendarys are on levels of pretty much godhood and Mewtwo was able to battle Mew to a stand still. This estimates that they have similar levels of power.

Mewtwo is a pokemon, most pokemon can't kill humans with their power, just severely hurt them. Spawn is a demon, he's killed.

Mewtwo is not just any Pokemon. In the opening of the movie, he clearly killed a group of scientists with a psychic blast, and killed (SPOILERS) ash, who was later revived.
