Description Superhero families. Not exactly common in the Comic World, but they do happen. Marvel, for instance has the Fantastic Four, while DC has the 'Bat-Family'. But which is superior, I wonder?

Red Robin: Batman's sidekick for many years as the Third Robin, Tim Drake became the Red Robin during the period where Bruce was no longer the acting Batman. Though lacking in superpowers, Robin wields an arsenal of gadgets with all the skill and grace of one taught by the Caped Crusader.

Human Torch: Johnny Storm, once a mere mortal gained amazing abilities after being bombarded by cosmic radiation. Now with the power to 'Flame On!' Johnny can coat himself in high temperature flame, as well as project fire, Johnny fights to protect New York City with the rest of the Fantastic Four.

So who will it be? Ba-Family or Fantastic Four? Gadgets or Powers? Gotham or New York? DC or Marvel? Only you can decide...

WHO! IS! DEADLIEST!

(Disclaimer: Just to be clear, these two combatants were created / are owned by people far more creative / wealthier then me. I have made this, not for profit, but in the hopes of encouraging spirited discussion among fans. Please support the combatants official series. Thank you, that is all).

Tim would use a freezing disc or some other gadget, and once cooling Johnny down, knock him out with ease.

Torch curbstomps the fact his plasma form makes object pass through him if they don't burn up first makes him pretty untouchable against red robin.

No clue.
Torch has the ability to fly and shoot fire and let's all not forget the Nova blast.
Tim was trained by Batman. Nuff said on that one. So although he has no powers he makes up in skill, combat and gadgets.
I am going to say Torch because the Nova blast can get to be hotter than the son.

Tim is beyond outclassed here. One shot from his Nova Blast and Red Robin would be dead.

I'll have to go with Red Robin here. He probably knows how to take down a Hero like Johnny, due to there being a silimar version in the DC universe Fire. That, and the Fantastic Four always work best in a group while Batman's partners can all work alone if need be and still kick major ass.

Who do you think would win?

Honestly, I've never been a big Fantastic Four fan, so I would root for Robin out of principal.

Depends, Tim is known to make mistakes when his mind is on other things (like when he was looking for evidence of Batman being lost in time) but if he had time to plan, I think he would win. He is a plotter and has a "hit list" of every villain and most heroes and each plan to take down the next target went off without a hitch after only a little bit of time to plan each strike.
I don't know enought about the Human Torch to really back him up.

what advantages would these two have over another

Well, Robin has intellect, martial arts skills, and an array of gadgets, as well as experience fighting super-powered beings before.

Torch has some knowledge, the power of flight (which is also better speed and agility), and super hot fire. He has also fought gadget based heroes/villains before.

Tim for the win, anyone taught by Batman is more than a match for the human torch, the dudes a dipstick of the highest caliber, at any given time I'm sure Roby here has atleast 10 different gadgets that would drop Johnny boy in one shot and another 5 that would do the job in conjunction

You do realize prep time is the only way for Tim to beat Johnny, which is prohibited in Death Battle.

I'm not sure, I guess it would all depend on what gadgets Robin had on him at the time.

A Robin fan, cool.

But doesn't Human Torch generate incredibly hot fire? Hasn't he fought tech based villains before?

In greater detail, how do you think Robin would deal with the Human Torch.

I'm just saying he must have some anti-fire pullests that makes a fire proth fome that will stop Johnny. Also in need I think the bats have some Mr.Freeze tech some were.
