Description
Now a battle between two of the greatest heroes in the universe.The Doctor: For over a thousand years the Time Lord known only as The Doctor has protected all of time and space from evils unimaginable. With his trusty Sonic Screwdriver, there is little the Doctor cannot build, destroy, or control; and with his TARDIS, there is nowhere in time and space he cannot go.
Commander Shepard: Shepard: Member of the Systems Alliance Navy, and captain of the Normandy, Shepard is the hero of the Mass Effect trilogy, who fought against the overwhelming Reapers for the safety of mankind. Against all odds, he united the races of his universe into a fighting force that pushed back total annihilation.
Now the The Doctor and the Shepard will face down a fellow hero. The Doctor may have survived by his wits for this long, but can he best this trained soldier? And while the Commander may have faced down powerful foes before, but can he last against a Time Lord? The Normandy, the TARDIS, the Omni-Blade, the Sonic Screwdriver. These men have used every tool at their disposal, even their own companions in the war against evil. Now the battle comes to a head, and only one man can claim victory. So tell me friends...

Paragon Shepard and the 9th, 10th, or 11th Doctor would probably get along pretty well, and neither Reapers, Cybermen or Daleks would have a hope of success. If it's the 12th Doctor his opinion of soldiers might cause some friction, but Shepard would probably call Twelve out on being a hypocritical, condescending prick, before putting aside their differences and dealing with whatever intergalactic asshole (aside from Twelve) happens to show up.
I could see Shepard being in awe of the TARDIS before saying "Mine's bigger on the outside."

I don't know anything about Commander Shepard, but the Doctor can beat pretty much anyone.

I don't know anything about Shepard so i can't say anything for him, but if the Doctor is out for blood, he is going to freaking get it.
as for the bonus questions, I don't think having a military soldier for a companion would really suit the Doctor (unless it is John Hurts)

Nope! But Death Batttles rules prevent opponents from having outside help, so TARDIS can't help the Doctor.

Outside help is more on lines of "other CHARACTER help". If the plot shields are merely a tool/weapon, yes he can use them, but if they are a A.I. like TARDIS so no.
