Description
Ok I know I will complete mess the colouring up on this so am posting the line art for now.The first of hel house inspired drawings. Still undecided whether to attempt this in watercolours as they are not my strong point, so a toss up between my tradtional marker job or a botched attempt at watercolours.
Anyho, this is a picture of Mr Jay who sits by the fireplace. It was meant to be of creepy dave the crow on my shelf, but he went a bit small for a crow.
Also a sneeky bit of practice for a future project to do with animals

Thank you very much. I tend to do the lines and they look ok but my colouring skills are not that spot on yet so end up botching it all up.

Will never say no to some favs so fav away! Thank you!
I think drawing things which you either haven't drawn before or don't like drawing so much has helped me a great deal in improving as it really challenges you as you want to do the best you can so it pushes you that wee bit more.

Ah cool. You have one of my favourite artists at the moment over there, King Carlos. Saw the pheonix backpiece pics in the latest total tattoo magazine, blew me away, absolutely stunning work!

Aw, thank you!
Where abouts are you from, as not so hot with my languages?
I like eyeballs, they tend to creep into everything I do some way or another. Was very hard trying not to squeeze a rose in this one as well as I seem to draw them a lot too! lol
I haven't used a lot of watercolours myself as I don't like the lack of control I get with them, hence why I prefer markers. But it all comes with practice I guess so may just give it a try

I am scared of colouring him, my lines tend to be better than my colouring, but will give it ago (can always trace my sketch again! - the miracle of a light box!)

I have a tendency to photocopy my lines 10 times and keep a master version, if I'm hand colouring. That way I can try out a few different shading and colour combos. One day I'll take a course on water colour painting, I want to learn how to use masks and washes properly. I always mess up when I try to do them properly...

I used to photocopy the lines, but being a skinty mcflinty nowadays I don't bother and am churning out quite a bit of work now each week, so not really worth it. I do scan everything in though, at least the finished if no lines. I just wish my scanner wasn't so unpredictable as it can make the 2 halves look completely different and lining them up in ps never works very well.

I limit my self to A4 for most of my lines, and I stole an OHP for doing paintings. Its worked pretty well for all the boards I've done... One day I'll buy an A3 scanner and get rid of my piece of shit that I use now...

I would love an A3 scanner too, make life a lot simpler for sure! Been having a look on evilbay for them but they aren't so easy to find at a 'reasonable' price

I don't know about reasonable but I can barely stretch to affordable at the moment
