Description

After school and practice everyday, Thomas drives himself home. His parents both work, but come home soon after he does. There's only about a 30-45 minute window between him and his parents, but this is basically the only time when he's all alone. He's careful to lock the door, but seriously, who's gonna get in through the balcony on the 2nd floor?

He hears a creak in the ceiling from someone moving upstairs. Now he's up and alert, slowly moving for his baseball bat just in case. The intruder upstairs has planned everything out, and is now just lying in wait behind the bend at the top of the stairs.

As he creeps up the steps one by one, bat in hand, he's expecting a stereotypical tall muscular thug. He's caught off guard when he's rabbit punched in the gut by a woman, who then knocks the bat out of his hands and drags him into the bathroom by his hair, forcing his face to the cold tile floor. He yells for help as he tries to turn over onto his back to face his attacker, but she keeps her knee on his back and zip ties his wrists behind him. She uses at least 3 of course. Because one is really not gonna work. He's knocked his chin on the floor while struggling (and bruised it too) and he's not taking a second to stop his squirming. Then she speaks to him. Her voice is quiet and calm. She tells him to stop or she'll stick a knife in his side, then holds it to his body so he knows she's serious. He's staying still but breathing harshly, trying and failing to see her face as she talks.

"You're going to be quiet. I won't hurt you. But you need to shut up. If you move too much, it will hurt."

Just then, a car rolls up to the driveway. Thomas snaps his head to look in the direction of the front door and he begins to yell again. She grabs a towel, rips it and puts it through his mouth and pulls tight. he can't say a word through the thick cloth gripping the corners of his mouth and beginning to hurt his jaw. She forces his head up by grabbing the gag and whispers to him.

"You're going to come with me right now. Don't make a sound. I'm going to get up and you'll walk in front of me. Let's go."

She presses his face to the wall as she listens for movement. His mom is in the house, in the kitchen, looking for him. She's home way too early.

"Thomas? I'm home, sweetie! I'm starting dinner when your dad gets here."

He half whimpers against his gag as angry tears start to form in his eyes, and she tightens her grip. He almost tries to call to his mother for help. Not hearing a reply from him, his mom goes upstairs. The intruder slowly creeps up and lets go of Thomas, and as soon as mom is in the boy's room, the intruder bolts out and locks the door with her on the other side, creating her new escape. She grabs Thomas again as he tries to yell through the cloth in his mouth, his mom pounding on the door to get out. He's crying furiously now as he's being shoved and pulled down the stairs and out through the back door, through the backyard and to the empty minivan parked by the little road in the wooded park.

In no time he's on the floor of the car with another few zip ties around his ankles and being whizzed off to who knows where.
