The difference beetween the skin tones makes it look like he is wearing a mask... or as if all his skin below it was just ripped off.

i saw that stock pic, and i had to do something with it.

i rarely ever use males, cause i love working on the female form, but something just hit me with this one.

thanks for the comment dear.

Yeah he has a great midsection.
I am the same way but some men
such as Morf, yeah they are great
to use.

Females are just more
beautiful and I get more creative..
usually. You are very welcome!!!

very thought provoking. great use of body and shadowing. I used to say you can tell alot about a person by just their eyes now I'm not so sure.

That's a pity that 99% of brushes here is available only for Photoshop...

Great work, as always. I like the transition between 'normal' and 'stained' skin on the face; it looks like the top part was a mask or something...

scaryjesus In reply to caithuniverse [2007-12-28 03:48:07 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i've noticed practically all the brushes are for photoshop. what program do you use?

and it reminds me of a mask too!

As Linux user, I use GIMP. I'd say it has 80% of PS's abilities and it's free.
Main flaws are:

-no CMYK support (I have to prepare some posters for printing, so that's a problem now)
-tablet support is only partial (e.g. no pressure sensitivity)
-ugly user interface (but you can get used to it, it's ugly but logical)
-a bit strange cropping/resizing operations (but as above, I got used)
-no separate correction layers (only for PS users, after some time you can live without it )

Merits, on the other hand, are:

-good load of filters and effects (some even unavailable in PS)
-ability to save and read from virtually any file format (including PSD)
-great stability
-you don't pay a dollar for it

cool! i've never use anything other than pshop, so it's practically in my blood now, heh. but hey, that free part to GIMP is awfully nice.

I can give you my girlfriend as an example... it took her some time to convert to GIMP, and it wasn't without pain and curses, but finally she made it

Really. I use Linux solely for some 6 years now... and every time I have to switch to WinXP I curse it as much as i can. The most difficult thing is to operate in a different environment than you're used to. But, after all, it's not that impossible
