Added 10/3/09Now this one, I'm almost sure I've screwed up somehow.
The fingers expecially-they look weird, even though all the pics I looked at for reference looked like that...
Ahh, well. I can always try again.
He looks sorta...shiny too. >_>
Bonus points to anyone who can guess the bird I used (well, roughly) for the color.

I like it. I think you put too much into the eyes... they should be, perhaps, a little more reptilian (not the iris, but in the sense that they don't look like there are thoughts going through its head... oh nevermind).

Perhaps it's just me, but the claw hands look like their turned inwards or upside down or something.
As to the bird here are a few of my guesses: Secretary bird, African swallow-tailed kite, white tailed hawk, white rumped hawk, some type of goshawk, harpy eagle, sparrowhawk, or black hawk-eagle?

And we have a winner with Goshawk! The Northern Goshawk, who isn't really this blue, but who this was based on. Good guess, there!

From what I remember when I read about them was that they were more of gliders than flyers.
I also know their is a bird South America that has hatclings with claws on their wings.
